I think that this game, and so many other good ones, sold less due to lack of advertising. Boom Blox for example. I can honestly say I never saw one TV commercial. Internet is great and all, but lets face it, it's not the only form of throwing your product out there.

Dunno about you, but I see a Boom Blox commercial everyday over here... especially in cartoon channels.

This discussion has been had before, when we last spoke of the failure of Boom Blox, but I see Boom Blox commercials all the time on Cartoon Network, which i know isn't on the viewing list for a lot of people around here, but its hardly nonexistent in advertising

Huh, and in the end long tail effect meant that its sales weren't as hideous as all that

Ah well, that's Capcom for ya

boom blox, well it's hard 2 say why it didn't sell so well because they did advertise my guess is that appealed just hardcore gamers and there are probably only 600,000 hardcore gamers on the wii who heard about it. Zack and Wiki on the other hand was the lack of advertising. For example I only heard about the game on this site.

I really loved Zack & Wiki... But I can wait for a sequel. I don't want them to rush anything.

But, man, the advertising for the game was bad. Magazine and web ads, that's it.

You also have to consider the fact that just because a game is GOOD doesn't mean that everyone will want it. I considered Boom Blox; but I just am not that interested in its style of gameplay. On the other hand, I bought Blast Works, a title which is similar in many ways (relatively unknown, very different, good reviews), and I love it. And I have friends who I won't even bother recommending it to because I know they hate shooters.

Personally, as unique and fun as Zack and Wiki was, I don't think it needs (or really deserves) a sequel. I would much rather see Capcom put the same genius found in Zack and Wiki's control scheme into other games; branch out some. The "Okami" to Zack and Wiki's "Viewtiful Joe".

Zack & Wiki was one of the best game experiences I've had in the last year. PERFECT puzzles. I'd kill for a sequel. I'm having a total blast (no pun intended) with Boom Blox right now too.

Thank god. Maybe they'll spend resources on a halfway decent game this time around (Rockman ZX3?), because Zack and Wiki was horrible.
