Though gravelly voiced soldiers are always keen to point out the many ways in which war has changed, it certainly hasn't ceased being profitable, least of all in the realm of video games. DICE, developer of EA's popular Battlefield franchise, has confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that it currently has five related titles in development. Executive producer for DICE, Ben Cousins, was quite right when he said that's "more than you expect."
With Battlefield: Bad Company out this week and the free-to-play Battlefield: Heroes already impressing industry pundits, we're left speculating about three (maybe more?) additional titles. According to Cousin's comments made at GDC Paris, one will be a traditional game for consoles, while another will be a joint effort with Neowiz, aimed at Korea. As for the third title? We're predicting Battlefield: Field of Battle, a turn-based card game for the iPhone. What say you?

I kinda like the graphical style of the free Battlefield game, but I can't help but think it looks a lot like Team Fortress 2, minus the soul and character.

Has anyone seen the Incredibles?
TF2 was not the 1st to use that art style...

TF2 is the first game to succcessfully go cartoon-style basically. It's not fair to compare to a TV show/movie especially when the subject matters are completely different. It's just unfortunate for BF: Heroes that both came up with the idea independently but one beat the other to the (free) market. I'll give it a shot but doubt it will have the support, community maps, etc. that TF2 does.

Fidlious, not really. If Heroes had come out on its own we wouldn't be comparing it to Incredibles. It has a lot more resemblances to TF2 than Incredibles.
Plus, TF2 is very different from incredibles, it just looks like a pixar movie. You should see the confused looks I get from people when I say it 'looks like Incredibles'... That's how I've realised it's very different.

Battlefield MMO confirmed?
"a turn-based card game for the iPhone".
Make it for the PSP or Ds and it is a buy.

Battlefield 1914! Experience the pure adrenal thrill of camping in filthy, disease-ridden trenches for weeks on end, only to run across no-man's land and get mercilessly gunned down in a matter of seconds!
Survived the rush? No worries, you'll be dead of disease soon!
I predict gangbuster sales.

I hope they are working on their crappy activation. After 2142, I would be seriously hard pressed to buy anymore of their crap. BF2 was OK but not great but 2142 was just beyond ridiculous.
