Frontlines gets free map on Xbox Live
It's been a while (read: forever) since we've seen someone playing Frontlines: Fuel of War on our 360 friends list. But if a company wanted to re-energize (create?) a game's fans base, we can think of few ways to do it better than this: Five maps are being doled out for the game, all for free with the first being free. [Update: The other four maps will be sold in a pack at a later stage.] According to Microsoft mouthpiece Major Nelson, it just hit Xbox Live today.
This first entry adds an automatic shotgun, rocket jeep and Red Star Transport Helicopter and is called "The Boneyard," which, considering the fate of Frontlines (and Frontlines PS3) is a choice almost too hilarious to contemplate.

This is like smearing a stick of butter onto a skyscraper of toast.

Tiptup300 @ Jun 24th 2008 2:48AM
Warhawk, now free maps on that! :D

Why can't developers decide to release free maps for games that people actually play? Infinity Ward, Bungie, I'm looking at you...

Totally...
They made millions in retail sales. And even if 1million users spend $10 on 3-4maps, they get even MORE money.
Rather ridiculous that the biggest companies charge the most, rather than being able to subsidise things because they've got so much profit.

Unfortunately, I think you've already answered your own question.

Is it hard to find anyone playing this? I've thought about picking it up, since jet aircraft have been missing from the 2142 and Bad Company games, but are featured here.

'Shame the game is mediocre.

This game isn't mediocre. It's the next best thing to the battlefield series. It's awesome. There are a fair amount of people online. The only thing it's missing is a good ranking system.

This game is more Battlefield than BF:Bad Company. With the new patch with more voice support, new maps and new Conquer game mode, you need to give this game a second look. Rent it if you are skeptical.
If you like huge, detailed, vertical maps (I am looking at you, snipers) this is your game. The vehicles aren't to shabby either.

The biggest thing this game was lacking was a bigger name. Pretty underrated.

Didn't anyone tell them the Comanche was cancelled?

This game is good. I really enjoy it, it's far better than people give it credit for. The patch smoothed out the kinks, the maps are huge, the game is fun.
