Left 4 Dead 4 November
You've been 4-warned. Valve's PC and Xbox 360 zombie apocalypse sim, Left 4 Dead, will be overturning store shelves in a frantic search for essential supplies on November 4th. We highly recommend that you and three of your best friends shoot through the throbbing, mindless masses of a dilapidated modern society, if only so you can get home quicker and load up the game.
Be sure to read our hands-on impressions before you brave the undead hordes. And for heaven's sake, never go back for the dog. That's just stupid.

Can't wait. I been wanting another zombie infested game since Dead Rising came out.
Mr.ESC @ Jun 24th 2008 11:17AM
Ditto.
Dillon @ Jun 24th 2008 11:36AM
/agreed - Dead Rising was -great- but really left me wanting for a game I actually felt there was a struggle to survive against the onslaught.
arrrgh @ Jun 24th 2008 12:01PM
I loved dead rising. Still play it from time to time.
The only thing it really left me wanting was multiplayer co-op. That would take that game to a new level for sure
so naturally I'm stoked about left4dead
Obie @ Jun 24th 2008 1:42PM
Yeah dude, there needs to be a zombie apocalypse game yearly or I get the shakes.
Mr.ESC @ Jun 24th 2008 11:17AM
I'm still waiting for the TF2 achievements for the Xbox 360 :(
Anyway hells yes,Gimme.
Zombies = Awesome.
Jakka @ Jun 24th 2008 11:39AM
Just buy the steam version already. It's only $20 and it'll be the most fun you'll ever have with your PC.
The quality gap between 16 > 24 is just amazing.
btw, do you REALLY want the achievements? Right now the game is unplayable because there are six pyro's on each team.
brokenscope @ Jun 24th 2008 12:09PM
the issue with the achievements is that valve doled out its 1000pts for them already. Then again valve may be fighting to get the content released free, or maybe they just want to wait for all of the stuff to be done.
Who knows, speculation abounds.
Jakka @ Jun 24th 2008 1:43PM
They could make them 0 point.
Haggard @ Jun 24th 2008 11:19AM
I think it'll hit virtual, Steam-based shelves quite a lot harder than it hits retail ones for the PC or 360.
After all, the Orange Box did.
Eric @ Jun 24th 2008 11:19AM
Is this game still going to retail for $50?
Aex @ Jun 24th 2008 11:31AM
Probably will for the PC
Haggard @ Jun 24th 2008 4:09PM
That's about how much we pay for PC games here in the UK. Our console games, however, are the equivalent of $80.
Alt-Controls.com @ Jun 24th 2008 11:20AM
Looks insane.
LaughingTarget @ Jun 24th 2008 11:22AM
I'm surprised they didn't push it out to April 4th just to keep up with the 4 theme.
Huey2k2 @ Jun 24th 2008 11:25AM
Neat, I'm building a new computer soon so I will be able to play it for my PC, this makes me happy.
riggs @ Jun 24th 2008 11:27AM
definite rent, this game with four friends = all kinds of awesome.
dextro @ Jun 24th 2008 11:27AM
Is that GMT? PST? EST? Valve Time?
FSK405K @ Jun 24th 2008 11:40AM
Same release date for the PC version as the gimped X360 version?
JonFitt @ Jun 24th 2008 12:12PM
Gotta wait until Nov 4th?
Noooooooo.
todd @ Jun 24th 2008 12:13PM
ya!
Emophia @ Jun 24th 2008 12:30PM
I'm not really looking forward too it.
But all my PC gaming pals are pissing themselves over it so I;ll probably buy it just to play with them.
I hope I'm pleasantly surprised, but i highly doubt it;s going to beat out TF2 for my online gaming time...
Haggard @ Jun 24th 2008 4:11PM
If you love TF2 then surely you're confident that Valve can make an excellent game out of what is arguably a more original concept?
Emophia @ Jun 24th 2008 5:48PM
I don't like Half Life series much, but I love TF2 and Portal.
They're different divisions in Valve making these games...
FinalDragoon @ Jun 24th 2008 12:36PM
Now that this has been dated maybe you guys can start reporting on The Crossing again....
tmacairjordan87 @ Jun 24th 2008 12:59PM
My only wish is that valve reduces the speed of everything to normal human-like speeds. Why does every Valve...hell every PC shooter have to run super fast? Like I said on the 1up boards that's not survival horror, it's just another twitch shooter.
I'll wait and see, but right now it's on my Pass list.
Mark @ Jun 24th 2008 1:07PM
And still no signs of system requirements to prepare ourselves?
Haggard @ Jun 24th 2008 4:13PM
It's on the source engine, which at this point is so optimised that you could probably run this on an iPhone.
Jonah Falcon @ Jun 24th 2008 1:31PM
I'm fucking stoked.
mundox @ Jun 24th 2008 2:42PM
Whinning about console version?
Why in the world does anyone play a FPS on a console, it sucks.
I'm so gonna get this on steam as soon as they let me :D
Titanium_Orchid @ Jun 24th 2008 4:05PM
This isn't coming out for the PS3? damn.
I need my zombie fix.
Haggard @ Jun 24th 2008 4:14PM
Not unless you want EA to make a half-arsed attempt at a port like they did for the orange box.
Eggy @ Jun 25th 2008 9:26AM
It was a pretty decent port by EA. Have you even played it or are you just repeating some bullshit certain sites are always spreading.
Titanium_Orchid @ Jun 25th 2008 3:08PM
I played the Orange Box on the PS3. The graphics were not sharp, everything looked low-rez. Also, TF2 didn't work at all. I was never able to join a game.
Eggy @ Jun 24th 2008 5:01PM
Still looks like a HL2 mod to me.
