PSA: PSN going down for scheduled maintenance, not 2.4 update
During the maintenance there will be no access to the PlayStation Store or online play through the PSN. Those who had online plans, feel free to take the opportunity to catch up on your Joystiq reading, we've got plenty of features to burn six hours on.

But where does it say "routine scheduled maintenance".
I know that it is not coming out today for sure...but to say that this has NOTHING to do with 2.4? Yeah right, last time it was down though, it was for store updating though...

Is this the first scheduled maintenance of the PSN? Has there been another one? I guess when the new store came out, the store was down for a while, but the whole PSN? This might be the first time, certainly the first time I remember.
I'm sure it probably has something to do with 2.4, even if it's not the actual deployment thereof.

as far as i can remember, the only other scheduled maintenance was for the store update like you said. that said, this more than likely does have something to do with the 2.40 update but just doesnt represent a release of it today. i hope it comes soon though, ive been checking blogs like a madman waiting to see that "PS3 firmware 2.40 is live" headline.

I think this is more to extinguish the rumor that this maintenance will carry the 2.4 update with it. It'd be all the less tense if Sony would announce a release date..

I can't help but think that Sony is going to screw 2.4 up. Don't ask me how, I just got that feeling...
