EuroGamer.pt (translation) reports that God of War III will be shown at E3 next month. The site was apparently informed of this by a Sony representative at the Interactive & Digital Entertainment Festival, currently being held in Paris.
Don't get too excited -- even if the rumor is true, it doesn't mean GoW III will unleash bloody vengeance against the Titans this year. Although a release date is pure speculation at this point, some rumors report the launch to be next Christmas, while certain retailers have given it a placeholder release of next March.

Well put Jaclo.
The GoW series is one that completely fell off my radar. I'm not sure if this is something that I should go back and reinvest in.
For the record: I'm not a big fan of Ninja Gaiden or Devil May Cry (I know, I know - two big franchises that a lot of people love but I could just not get in to). I've played both of these games however (more Gaiden than DMC) but NEVER a GoW game. As I say, I completely missed that particular train.
Considering I'm not a big fan of the aforementioned games would you recommend GoW?

Is 1080p going to be an unlockable? Kinda like how the higher resolution was an unlockable in GoWII? lol

Hope the story is better than GoW2. Fighting Zeus just seemed stupid looking back.
Still an amazing game though.

i do agree that the story in the second one was not nearly as good as the first. and i think the second was much shorter. i think i beat it in like 3 sittings, as opposed to the week for the first one. hopefully this one is better, but you never know what to expect with how often they change directors (Jaffe, Barlog, ?)

To Mr.ESC:
The best way to keep a positive change from happening is to simply accept things for the way they are, i.e. "This is how the internet is. Deal with it." Instead of joining in on the nonsense, wouldn't it be better to try to help instigate some change in the way internet forums (and comments sections) work?
A forum should be a place for civilized DISCUSSIONS. Let's all band together to create that type of environment. A more positive environment. It's okay for people to have differing opinions.
To Brodie-san: I'm not really a fan of Devil May Cry either. I've tried to get into it, but I haven't been able to. I'm currently playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma, however, and I am enjoying it.
You should definitely give God of War a chance. Go to someplace like GameStop and buy it used. That way, if you don't like it, you can simply return it within seven days and either get your money back or get a different game. I think the first God of War is somewhere between $14.99 and $17.99.

Sorry, Jaclo. We won't make jokes about God of War around you anymore. We didn't know you'd take it so personally. From now on, we will have only serious and civilized discussions about videogames.
I, on behalf of the internet, offers our sincerest apologies.

Nobody said that jokes aren't civilized. I love reading the jokes that people put on here and in forums. Definitely do not ease up on the JOKES.
The insults and blind fanboy-ism are what ruin the internet.
It's entirely possible to have a civilized discussion, with jokes, without insults (like calling someone an idiot because his/her opinion differs from our own).

Ouch. You got me NATO_Duke. Excellent question. Difficult question. I'm just going to be a politician and answer your question without really answering it:
If we change the way the internet works, perhaps we won't have to worry about making fun of them.
Seriously though, there is nothing wrong with making fun of people, hence the phrase, making FUN. As long as it's all in good fun, there's no harm. No harm, no foul.

2009 is gearing up to be a bad-ass Xmas......GOWIII? The Peter Jackson Halo Product? Metroid maybe?
As for 2008.....It will be interesting to see what the big games will be for the Wii & PS3 this Xmas season at E3 as we know the 360s big gun is Gears Of War II.
You have to wonder why Sony isn't coinciding its huge releases for XMAS anymore....MGS4 in June? FFXIII (maybe Xmas in Japan) but likely 1st Q 2009?
Granted I think LBP has potential.....but is it a system seller?? Wii will continue to sell on Wii Sports and Wii Fit alone so......

Makes sense to me. I would still see this game as being a long way off, as a solid 2-year development time was probably needed to rework a franchise known for pushing it's console's limits to the limit
Either Spring or holiday 09, and probably the latter.
