Rumor: Kratos in PS3 version of Soul Calibur IV

The God of War may be making a guest appearance in Soul Calibur IV if EGM's Quartermann is to be believed. 1Up reveals that its sister-publication's resident rumormonger anticipates Kratos will be in the PlayStation 3 version of the game. Kratos, meet Darth Vader.

Quartermann apparently doesn't go into whether Microsoft will have its own mascot to keep Yoda and the "Dark Apprentice" company on the Xbox 360's SC IV guest roster. Considering the game is due out next month, this rumor should reveal its veracity shortly.

As I always ask anyone who puts forth any type of arguement, can you defend this sentence?

Explain exactly how he's a horrible character. Explain how the creator is HORRIBLE. And most importantly, explain how God of War is a horrible game.

Horrible is a pretty strong word, you know? You just lumped God of War into the same category as Drake of the 99 Dragons.

Anyway, since you put forth the arguement, here's your chance to let us know why you feel this way.

Kratos is a horrible character because he's just another random wildman for pre-teen boys to masturbate over. "OMG HE HAZ TEH SECKS WITH BOOBZ! HEZ SO KOOOOOL!!!"

God of War is a horrible game because it consists mostly of an endless stream of identical monsters to slice into pieces, with the occasional decent boss fight thrown in. Too bad the boss fights aren't nearly enough to save it.

David Jaffe is a horrible game creator because this horrible game is the best thing he's ever done. And not just the best GAME, either. The constant stream of bullshit that pours fourth from his mouth whenever nobody asks him for his opinion is enough to turn my stomach.

Wow. I loved Otogi. Was totally worth high-jacking my roommate's Xbox for that week in undergrad.

I got it:

Master Chief/Arbiter/Brute with a energy sword/hammer

Of course... Arbiter w/ Energy Sword! I loved that perspective in Halo 2, unlike seemingly everyone!

It makes sense, unless Kratos killed Hephaestus in his games. Then it don't make sense.

wow awesome. i'd play as him every time. i can't think of a reason not to. He'd be perfect as a fighter.

If this is true it looks like I'll be buying two copies of Soul Caliber. One for the 360 and one for the PS3.

I always thought Kratos would be a perfect fit. Now for the 360 they should have Marcus Fenix but like he only uses his chainsaw...maybe he ran out of bullets?

360 version....Ryu Hayabusa, or Dante?

No dante, hes got guns, guns suck in an epic world, thats like putting dante in Lord of the rings, wouldn't work.

Because Cervantes doesn't have a gun.

Dantes moves set wouldn't RELY on his gun play. He has plenty of sword action. This gun play would have to be minimal.

M$ will either bring out Ryu oR Master Chief or a rip off of him like DOA4 did but still all Chief needs is an Energy Sword and Hammer and maybe just variants of those for more weapons come on they do that for like every other character Chief wont be so hard to make up weapons for.

Ryu Hayabusa is obvious he has like 12 weapons if you include the ones from both games and his moveset is just as cool IZUNA all day. I'd ratyher have Ryu than Chief but M$ doesn't own the IP so i'm assuming that cool ass Plasma Stick throw from DOA4 is still in even I'm wack at DOA4.

360 needs an exclusive character for this role, and other the Ryu (some what exclusivly soiled due to his appearance on PS3) , I can't think of many that don't weild guns, and guns are kinda an unfair advantage for SC making it gay, as much as I would like to see Marcus in it.

Please no master chief, he'll become like Mario! Before you know it we'll have 'Master Chief Fun Party' 'Master Chief Kart Racing' 'Super Master Chief Brothers' and whatnot.

Mario in SC? That would completly ruin the game for me, if you're sticking Mario in, you might as well stick Rachet and Clank, Blinx and every other stupid character under the sun, smash bros is there for a reason, its for the cartoony characters, SC is for reaslistic characters.

Speaking of which, I'd love to see Raven in it from Tekken.

Well, between Vader, Kratos, and the DS3 d-pad this would pretty much wrap things up as this being my first multi-plat PS3 purchase if true.

The only thing the 360 version could do to even make me *think* about getting at that point it is adding Cole Train or Carmine.

quite frankly I wouldn't be surprised if it was a Covenant Elite/Master Chief with an energy sword to show up on Microsoft's roster.

That, or as an above commenter said, Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden, though I don't think it's very likely.

Oh, what about Kaim from Lost Odyssey? Ummm....Nah. Never gonna happen.

It would be the biggest kick in the pants to Itagaki if Ryu Hayabusa ended up in SC4. He hates Namco fighting games... Then he might be turned off MS, and start developing for Nintendo. Crazy!!!

SC2 was really the best one,Namco is an idiot for not fallowing that strategy anymore.
I mean,imagine SC4 with Kratos on ps3,master chief on xbox360 and link on the wii.
WOW just with the fanservice alone they would be among the best selling games for each system.

Kratos would be a wonderful addition for the ps3 version a male ivy with the anger of nightmare but the strength of astaroth...right on. For microsoft's sake maybe they can toss in Frank West from dead rising and use various objects on the field as a weapon or just start off with a katana, a jug of O.J. and a few plates.
