I believe so, as it's just an optin on the menu. Capcom haven't confirmed one way or the other though.

I think Commando is a great XBLA/PSN game, a mindless blaster to play with friends. I bought it only for SSFF2THDR but I've really enjoyed it this past week.

damn... if the beta is set to run all the way to august, wouldn't that mean they wouldn't plan on actually releasing the game until a few weeks after?

i guess they could release the game while the beta was underway and then just patch up the game with corrections to the flaws they found on network play. but i dun know how plausible that scenario is.

the reason i'm "worried" about when it's going to be released is because of the Evolution Fighting Tournament 2008 being held from August 8-11. having the HD remix version of a beloved classic would (not by me, just speaking for the masses) would be a great gift the fighting game enthusiasts in attendance.

but from what i'm seeing, that isn't likely going to be the case. DAMMIT David Sirlin! get with it! ;p

Last I checked, that's not the case anymore. Wizard changed the logo on the main page back to normal ST from Anniversary Collection.

wait... a buggy beta? no way! you've gotta be shitting me!

Why are they giving it out with "Wolf of the Battlefield:Commando 3" instead of giving it to those of us who paid for "Street Fighter 2: Hyper Fighting"? -- Wouldn't the latter make sense and be a decent gesture.

As it stands, they're basically expecting me to purchase the exact same game YET AGAIN but this time with prettier graphics. I've already purchased home versions of Street Fighter 2 MANY times since its debut.

I don't think I'll be buying this. Sorry, but this is one too many, too soon. I'm NOT going to buy the same game every year, just because it gets tweaked a bit. The game play is the same and frankly this version should have been what they gave us in the first place when they released SF2:HF on Arcade.

No man-- I'm out. They're not getting a dime for this one from me if they won't at least give the SF2:HF buyers a discount or rebate or something.

Actually, the gameplay in this beta is way more broken than any other SF game so far. Ken can follow up a medium DP with another DP, and if you get a random dizzy and add a super to that, you've basically won the match in one combo. This game, so far is a joke. It's for the enthusiasts like me, but unfortunately it fell flat on it's face as soon as I played it. Lag caused people to jump in and out in some matches as if I was playing a laggy FPS or something. The game has crashed more than it has worked for me. Although this is said to be an early build, what I've seen so far has been a joke.

Hmmmm, every game I've had (that's not locked up) has been 100% lag free. That was this morning though so it may have got worse now more people have downloaded it.

Norm, it's clear you have no idea what a beta is or what it's purpose is. I regret to inform you, but it's not meant to be a demo, nor is it meant to be bug free... the very reason a beta exists is to find and fix bugs. The reason this public beta exists is to find and fix online play related bugs. So guess what? Expect bugs, and lots of them. OF COURSE this is the most broken version of SF2 ever, it's not finished yet!

Wikipedia entry on beta software, it's a quick read and should be enlightening:

Got it downloaded. Local match worked just fine, but quick match has actually frozen my machine. You've got some work to do Capcom.

Welcome to beta land. If you don't want to help Capcom stress-test SF2HD before it ships, then don't help them. But don't expect a polished experience, or anything even remotely near it from a beta, it exists BECAUSE the game has bugs.

Well, COD 4 was a good experience, was beta, but was a good beta, dont get me wrong, i love Street Fighter, but, its not working so far...

And dont come with the crap about helping Capcom, they are old monkeys, they supposed to know how to handle this kinda shit... dammm, how long Xbox live exists ???

it's buggy...it's beta...it's expected. my only quibble with it is the fact we have only 2 players to choose from and they are almost identical to each other to begin with. Is that so the fighting is more evenly matched, or just so the testers have fewer differences between the characters to focus on? Cause I seriously need to a fei long "whooooooooooooooooooo!!!!" fix.
