I must say that i'm dissapointed to hear the lack of the workers function, a typical thing on civ games....a civilization DS was like a dream for me to have on this console, so i'm really waiting to play this. Hope to enjoy it when it's on sale.

It's kinda sad that it's so hard to convert or develope good RTS's to the DS. Well that's my opinion either way .. since i've been kinda dissapointed at those i've gotten my hands on.
BTW isn't it kinda funny that it looks like the guy on the picture is touching his balls ^^.

You lucky dog. 0.o

I can't believe I missed this piece. Slipped right past me.

One of the biggest problems with upcoming Civ Rev DS reviews from the major outlets is that you can tell they don't have a history with the franchise. It's good to know you're on the case though.

Now where's that review

When the review does come out, I'd like to hear exactly how the controls work. IGN made it sound as though there was no point in breaking out the stylus at all because you had to use the Dpad and buttons to actually make movements, and all you could with the stylus is select units. True? If I wanted to play almost exclusively with the stylus, how close could I come?

I have mixed feelings too, but so far I'm loving CivRev more than hating it. Like the reviewer, I've also been more of an expansionist in PC Civ; war is so messy (and usually long and drawn-out) that I tend to avoid it as much as possible. In CivRev, it's unavoidable: you have to face five opponents on a tiny map, and those opponents are belligerent. But on the plus side, war is easier and more fun in CivRev than in any other version of the game I've played.

Now that I've got the hang of it, I'm enjoying the game. I wish it had a strategic map (you only get to see it during the post-game replay); I wish the AI player-turns went faster (they're pretty slow, and you have to wait); I wish it were customizable. Still, I like what it is.

To answer the question about controls, I find them kinda weird. I prefer to use the buttons for this kind of game myself (I use only the buttons in Age of Empires and Avance Wars), but it's not possible to use the buttons for everything; you have to touch the screen sometimes. I don't think it's possible to use just the stylus either; you can use it for most things, but you have to use the buttons sometimes.
