We had a runaway italics code. Looks like somebody already fixed it!

I used to have the original Tempest arcade game. This game... intrigues me.

Yeah, the first set of levels are cake. They seem kind of slow almost, and made me wish there was a difficulty setting.

The bonus levels come close to inducing seizures. My eyes got tired really fast after doing about five of those levels. I had to take a break.

I like this game better the first time I played it, when it was called Torus Trooper.

Actually, Torus Trooper is way better than Gyrostarr, which is sad given that Torus Trooper is free on PC and on Blast Works.

Going back a little further, this looks a great deal like Web Wars on the Vectrex circa 1982, right down to the grappling cable ("capture rod" in the original.)

Considering that there's no knob controller available for the Wii, I'm just as glad they ripped off a similar but not-knob-dependent game instead. Since the Vectrex had an analog stick too, the controls should be pretty equivalent, though I'm sure this one will feel a lot more fluid.

Good call on the Torus Trooper. Someone needs to port that to the Wii and everything else. It's a great game. Great play, great speed, great music, great challenge. Of course, if we had Wipeout for the Wii everything would be hunky dory.

Torus Trooper IS already ported... It is one of the unlockable games in Blast Works (along with Gunroar, rRootage and Tumiki Fighters [which is what Blast Works is based off of]).

This game reminded me most of that tube shmup for the PS1 called N20. It kind of revolved around the music (well mostly because it constanly blared Crystal Method), but it wasn't bad.
