This is my favorite of the 3 footage vids. I've watched it about 10 times since last night...I just can't seem to help myself. The game looks damn fun. Security looks like a good map. Just wish someone would have walked through the lasers just to see how it slices.
That sniper clubbing move is going to become one of my faves, I think.

Looks better and better with each video. I'm not a Gears superfan; I sold my copy months before Halo 3 but GOW2 looks like fun.
I like how the multiplayer map ('roadblock?') looks aged from the first incarnation, in that the rusted-out cars are gathering moss and flora around them, and that some of the buildings are giving way to 'destroyed beauty' :)

The are suppose to rip off arms aren't they so i'm gonna assume that the UFC thingy was just a place holder until they can get the rip off arm and beat you to death Locust thing in the game.

no, the ufc beatdown is one execution and the ripping off of them arms and beating them is another. FYI its an internal beta.

In the interview he said COG will get the UFC beat down while the Locust will get the rip off arm beat down.

In the interview Cliff said that the COG get the UFC beat down while the Locust get so Beastly Rip off arms and beat to death execution and that it just wasn't online yet.

I don't think those are proximity, but regardless they could be fun as hell so long as teamkill is required to be on when using them. I think anytime one has power weapons or explosives on a map teamkill should be enabled to keep people from using them so liberally. Hell friendly fire should always be on in every game. Even tennis.

They have definitely explained that you can stick nades to walls/cover/objects and they will turn into basically proximity mines. While the blast will hurt teammates when friendly fire is on I'm sure, I highly doubt a teammate can cause them to explode. I HATE proximity crap in shooters. Claymores nearly ruined CoD4 for me. Just look at one of those leaked beta videos where a guy walks out a door then sticks a frag on the side of the wall as he comes out. It's completely invisible to anyone coming out of the door. I don't want to have to walk through every doorway and around every corner at a snail's pace and checking every inch of the terrain for that nonsense.
Also, as broken as tagging was in the last game the smoke stun grenades that you spawn with are looking particularly nasty. I can't imagine how many chumps are going to be running around with the smoke-tag + roll back + lancer for an instant down combo now.

Its not a proximity mine. Its a Grenade stuck to a wall.
You have to shoot the grenade (or have a secondary grenade explode near enough to the first) in order for it to explode.
Just like if I was sitting at my house with one of my many boxes of grenades, and I put one grenade on the kitchen counter and hid in the bathroom. When you came into my kitchen, Id pop out with a pistol and shoot the grenade. That'd mess us both up I'd imagine, but at least I didn't shoot your dumb ass.

Where are you getting your freakishly incorrect info? They've said a million times that they're proximity mines, and in their latest interview (the one that comes on the UT3 footage) they specifically and explicitly say that if you stick a frag or smoke grenade to the wall they "become like proximity mines and if someone enters a certain radius around them they explode".

Who's the girl talking in the background? lol I was more interested seeing her than watching the video. I've never seen a female play gears of war. I'm still going to buy this. ONLY because they are going to fix host advantage and have a party system. This would of been a rent for me if they weren't.
Is it me or does it look a lot like gears 1? Like, besides the new weapons and finishing moves and the lack of host advantage it's pretty much the same. lol never mind. Lack of Host advantage makes it a completely new game.

And its weirdos like you that make GoW annoying. All the pubescent fanboys and their squeaky voiced love for "teh chix" really pisses me off. Particularly when a host gets mad at you for making the girl on their team angry. And pouty. And hurt feelings ish. Cuz I said they were a bitch. Which I say to many persons, regardless of Sex, or actual bitchiness level, for that matter.
Its a catch all anger phrase, particularly when you're chainsawed for the 9th time by a noob who couldn't hold your jock. But hes on the hosts squad in a particularly glitchy room, so as he zig zag walks up on you with a chainsaw revving and you unload half of all your shotty shells into his skipping and glitching barely-blinking face, and he still chainsaws me anyway, if I yell Bitch - don't automatically assume I give a shit about you.

Precisely the reason why I played player matches with friends ONLY for an entire summer last year.
The game really shines when you don't have a drunken southerner, or "TRUE GANGSTERZ", or a little kid yelling in your ear.
Anyway, this looks pretty much exactly like the first Gears, but with all the improvements I could have asked for from the first one.
5v5 obviously is a tremendous upgrade, as well as new executions to ensure variety, new guns, maps...
Not to mention that RIDICULOUS looking single player.
Graphics don't seem to be too different. Not much anyway where I could tell without a screen comparison, but I suppose Gears of War is still on the cutting edge of console graphics.
Good stuff. Makes me proud to be a 360fanboy.

I don't know the game doesn't look that interesting but then again I wasn't a fan of the first one. Looks like your standard (Third person?)FPS with (normally) good graphics.
