lots of rumors today. As pointless as Home, but it would probably be done first.

If even half of these rumors are true, MS has been very busy. I think that they don't want the casual gamers to slip away from their console. Kudos to MS for adapting to the ever changing gaming environment.

Wowee , lots of people like to say that Sony is the culprit for copying but this is rediculous. They rip of Mii avatars then they rip off home. Home at least has beautiful graphics, this looks like balls.

Like really Kevin, when sony brings rumble back and trophies they are copycats, but when microsoft blatently copies sony and wii in one fowl swoop you think they are "Kudos to MS for adapting to the ever changing gaming environment." biased bullshit really,

They all copy eachother , thats nothing new, happens in all industries. Whats important is whether or not the company improves and builds on the exsisting concept they are drawing inspiration from. This to me looks like a half baked answer to home, graphics look low poly and weak, I will reserve judgment until both are released.

@unboring

The idea is like Home--but the look is like Mii. I don't think they're trying to impress with the graphics. I think they're going for cute.

You're probably right, jsn. Home seems really intricate. This looks like it's something simple to be implemented over the existing GamerCard infrastructure.

I really hope this is fake though. Just seems like an unnecessary reaction to Home.

Seriously. And not because I find the rumor unlikely, but because the images just look faked. They look like someone with limited 3D modeling and texturing skills thought they could get away with making some simple, low-detailed stage just because the avatars previous revealed were more cartoony, which isn't the same thing. The interface with its awkward hexagonal border and random simplicity looks totally void of any actual design. And I don't know what the hell they were thinking with a crayon logo, making it look like MS was trying to capture the E games only audience rather than the broader casual one. Not to mention I find it unlikely they'd put "Press A" on what look like the title screen considering pressing start is the requirement for 360 games' title screens.

That said, I wish it were true (but not that crappy looking).

Whats sad is that I can't do this sort of thing on my Wii already. I hope this is true if only for Nintendo to make a Home/Gamerpad-like Wii channel.

Well, I'm not saying no, but I gotta say I'm skeptical.

Then again, you need a space to have your avatar parade around in, so why not? Microsoft has one advantage - software development skills. This would be a sensible use for them.

I think this is too obvious of a direction for them to go in, after Lips, Avatars, and their Motion controller

Perhaps somebody figured to jump on it and paint Microsoft as a greater copycat, i don't know

I really hope this is fake. I don't care for home and I won't care for this. I just want great games with a great online experience which I have had with my 360 thus far. I rather have microsoft focus on securing new ip's and working on more kick ass games....

As mentioned earlier, as much as Home had the idea first, they've taken forever to release anything. Odds are, MS will churn out something first.

Yeah, it's not like MS can rip off Home - it doesn't exist yet. While Sony SAYS it will come out some day, that's what they've been saying about Duke Nukem Forever for.... forever. Maybe if MS releases this first, Sony will look like they copied, at least to the average consumer who probably doesn't know Home from home.

That being said, I'm skeptical... highly.

I was thinking the same thing. At least, they should give you a choice. Maybe that's what things look like if your zone is "Family"--but if your zone is "Underground", then you're in a futuristic smog-choked city and everyone's a mutant.

Lips (singstar knockoff)

Avatars (mii knockoff)

Gamerpad (home and mii knockoff)

motion controller

And people have been ganging up on sony for copying lately?

don't you get it yet that these companies feed off each other? Sony is working on a wiimote copy also, it is just not ms. ms put a harddrive in their system so did sony. nintendo used the first analog stick all the companies followed suit. They feed off one another, it pushes the industry foward.

exactly, and its the same people who gang up on sony who come in saying crap like

"Kudos to MS for adapting to the ever changing gaming environment." - Kevin

Microsoft should have just done a top down habbo hotel clone if they wanted their virtual world to look like cold diarrhea.

It will only make 360 look bad in comparison to PS3 when home looks awesome with tons of functionality and this abomination looks worse then maple story / generic flash mmo. Lets see some comparison screenshots game trailers. commmmeeee onnnnnnn.

cold diarrhea...

see the thing is most 360 owners don't care for most of this crap that microsoft is doing. Nobody is overly excited hyping up the casual things that ms does. I mean jsut today sony announced that you can get your news and weather when you turn on your ps3. People were like "Wow that is the coolest thing ever." Now please tell me when reading the news and getting the weather is the coolest thing ever? Sony fans hype things that have been done by other systems while a majority of ms fans really don't care and just wants games to play.
