Gotta do something to kick-start the momentum before the holiday rush

Although this is more or less where the console should have started (looking beyond it's actual cost in parts and whatnot). Consoles were never meant to be luxury items

I think there is a pack that includes the HDD and the recharge cable for wireless controllers and of course the wireless controller.
Dvds IMO look okay and you can also play Dvds in most computers these days.

:/

No really, when did I step into the twilight zone or System wars?

A price drop in the US is all well and good but we need one overseas too.

In Australia, the premium currently costs $529 AUD (albeit with 1 or 2 good games). Last generation, PS2 and Xbox spent most of it's time at $399 AUD, the generation before most sales occurred at $199. I think.

So if the price does drop to $299US it SHOULD drop to $299 Australian, but we'll be deemed lucky if it drops to $399 Australian I'm sure.

At $399 Australian, it's tempting but not tempting enough in my mind. I allready threw that down on a Wii because I was too impatient for a PS3 price drop, I'm not about to do it again at that price. At least not for (another) console that is essentially a moderate upgrade on the last gen and fails to provide the luxuries of wireless, decent HDD, blu-ray and reliability. And this whole release accessories to cater for the casual market - hello - that boat has sailed allready. And I for one aint paying MS prices for their 2nd rate accessories.

$299 Australian and you've got a deal. (Unless PS3 drops its price too).

live 50+ (per year) !
hd-dvd +50

you can get everything on the ps3 plus some extra 20gb.
and of course MGS4 and slightly better graphics

Funny thing is the majority of multiplatform games have had better graphics on the 360 not on the PS3 or have come out even. (I have both systems).

It's $50 dollars a year. There is no plus. It's fifty flat dollars. If you can't afford that, maybe you should find a better job than being a burger jockey at McDonald's. This complaint is so old, it's hip is about to break. Also, HD-DVD isn't needed thanks to digital downloads and Wi-Fi is debatable.

lame duck, you are just being an azz, really,

in fact, i can afford it without the need of a job,
but i prefer spending 50 bucks on a game, instead of have to pay them just to play online.
And by comparing digital downloads with hi def media; it's obvious you've never seen a blu-ray movie on a 52 inch 1080p HDTV

you Fail in all of your points

Why the F would you get the HD-DVD drive? Also, you don't have to get MS' wireless adaptor, there are cheaper one out there.

I have a 60" DLP with a PS3 and 360 hooked to it. An HD download looks just as good as a Blu-Ray movie to me. You may have better eyesight, but for me it's just about dead even. And yes, I am being an ass. Why? Because I can't stand people who thing everything should be free. XBL is worth paying for, PSN isn't. When PSN gets to the level of XBL and gets as many consistent users, then I'd pay for it too. Also, no one in the Sony camp promised free PSN for life, remember that.

El serpiente, HOW do you compare a game to XBL? You buy a game for 60 bux, play it for a while and keep it or play it for a while and sell it off. A game isn't something that will be used everytime you turn on your system, XBL is. It's like throwing a fit because you have to pay for gas to get the most out of your car. It's about $4.17 a month for XBL. You pay one year up then save 5 dollars a month for the next 12 months to pay again. It's not rocket science. Anyway, it's not like there are thousands of games for ether system that you'll be needing to save up for.

Stop being a cheapass and support your platform a little.
