Before crying shovelware, the original Carnival Games sold over a million copies, so 2K is doing the right thing by wanting to get the best software for improving the series. A few other titles are also in line to use Havok, but no word on specific names as yet.
One of the most well-known development tools in the world has been secured by 2K Games for some upoming titles. The Havok physics engine is used in squillions of high-profile games like Halo 3, Oblivion, BioShock and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Naturally, 2K wanted to acquire the license for none other than Carnival Games: Mini-Golf.

Crap is crap, no matter what brand of engines the game runs. I didn't like the original Carnival Games (which I only got begrudgingly since that was the only way I was gonna get a Wii), so why should I patronize them further?
I mean, just look at Sonic the Hedgehog (360/PS3 version). That game held lots of promise and used the Havok engine, but Sega blew it big time.

Carnival Games' physics engine was actually nothing to sneeze at considering its shovelware status. Try the coin drop game and just leave the plates shuffling for 5 or 10 minutes. Maybe buying a real physics engine means they're actually going to try to make the mini golf game good.
My nieces have gotten more enjoyment out of CG than from any other game on the Wii, though I'm gonna have to stop doing the "ring the bell" game when I visit lest I have a stroke. There are a lot of other games I'll be buying before Carnival Games Mini-Golf, but I probably will buy it, if not for myself then for them.
