McFarlane Toys casting Guitar Hero in plastic
You have room on your desk, right? Right there between the Varia Suit Samus statue and Battle Armor Skeletor sits a space just begging to be filled. Now, McFarlane Toys, whose figs have more in common with plastic sculptures than actual toys, has announced plans to fill that space on your already crowded desk with figures based on Guitar Hero this November.
Already known for creating figures based on other video game properties such as Metal Gear Solid and Halo, McFarlane Toys has announced a manly lineup of four Guitar Hero personalities, each featuring 15-18 moving parts and a price between $10-15. The first wave of plastic rockers will include Johnny Napalm, Lars Ümlaut, Axel Steel, and God of Rock, while Casey Lynch and Judy Nails cheer lead the first wave from the sidelines.

Not entirely sure I'd want one....but they look very nice quality to me, but I'm not exactly an expert with these sort of things.
DarthDavid @ Jun 27th 2008 10:09AM
They look cool....but Jesus they're milking/killing the brand...what's next, Guitar Hero cereal with marshmallow guitar, amps, and Mohawks?!?!
Sheppy (of the Fidlious Clan of Wong) @ Jun 27th 2008 10:52AM
How about a belt which supports air guitar? Oh shit, nevermind, it's already out.
Desert Eagle @ Jun 27th 2008 1:02PM
Aha, my thoughts exactly sheppy.

Judy Nails from GHII I would buy in a second.
Not only do these suck, but they don't make a judy nails, the only character anyone likes?
(I realize that statement isn't true)
Clasifyd @ Jun 27th 2008 10:54AM
Or the J-pop girl from GH3. Nom nom nom! ^_^
ChooChooCharlie @ Jun 27th 2008 11:10AM
Unfortunately, it'll probably be the oddly proportioned whore version of Judy Nails found in GHIII.

Or Casey Lynch. I'd hit that... with a power chord.

You guys sound like you need a fix -_-
zombienutz @ Jun 27th 2008 10:17AM
Wow. McFarlane will make toys for anything now. I don't think I ever considered wanting a figure based on the GH characters. Want them or not, I am sure they will look ok.
Gunner McGrath @ Jun 27th 2008 10:52AM
And why not give the God of Rock the actual SG he plays in the game?
[.sm0ke.] @ Jun 27th 2008 4:37PM
Licensing issues. McFarlane and Activision would have to pay Gibson for the right, and with the lawsuit Gibson has against Activision, that's not gonna happen.
Sheppy (of the Fidlious Clan of Wong) @ Jun 27th 2008 10:53AM
personally? It takes McFarland to make these characters actually more unappealing, visually, than they were in Guitar Hero III.... *claps*
Bravo, sir! Now where's my Ninja Spawn IV or She Spawn III?
ChooChooCharlie @ Jun 27th 2008 11:08AM
Sweet. Some ugly action figures of some ugly characters.
Saneless @ Jun 27th 2008 11:32AM
Ahh yes, because GH avatars just have SOOO much personality, we needed these. Ugh. WTF Todd, bored much?
When you're done with these, please do me a favor and build figures for the ESRB ratings.
NATO_Duke @ Jun 27th 2008 11:56AM
Milk that cash cow!!!!
deaftly @ Jun 27th 2008 1:01PM
These figures are better

How about McFarlane stops making this crap and gets back to making more 3D movie posters. If you haven't seen them, they are pretty awesome.

If only they would make an Eddie Knox.. That would be the only one to grace my desk. Reno or Vegas, it doesn't matter as long as he has the cherry red Gibson ES-335
jmf @ Jun 27th 2008 4:13PM
Lame...I like Guitar Hero 3 but the characters and presentation were way too cheesy and over the top.
LlamaFarmer @ Jun 27th 2008 4:16PM
PAH - where's Pandora? Oh that is right they got rid of the only NORMAL looking chix for GHIII. I agree with jmf - most of the GHIII characters were presented or are cheesy, except Slash.
Jason Anderson @ Jun 28th 2008 5:25AM
I'd buy a Judy Nails circa Guitar Hero II (III's makes me mad.) or even better, Midori from GHIII. Especially if she's wearing her unlockable outfit.
I'd display them both along with my Dragon Quest VIII Jessica figure.
SytheMaster @ Jun 28th 2008 11:51AM
Why no grim ripper, lou or Clive Winston? Those guys I would buy. Still the god of rock looks cool.
