I'm 23; I just happen to have taste in music despite the limitations of taste of my generation.

MTV's been puppeteering Harmonix quite a lot recently. Virtually everything released is recent, played on MTV or an MTV affiliate or fits well within a radio demographic (i.e., The Cars album which, while I like, is easy to digest). I think classic rock and quality indie bands aren't going to be seen very often.

The worst part is they spend valuable time releasing worthless tracks like anything from the talentless soul-sucking piercing noise of Crooked X. Or work on songs personally involved in their lives like the hackneyed K.I.S.S.-wannabe tribute band Bang Camaro.

Papa roach is surprisingly good in concert. They have great energy, and that should be a good song to play (once I fix my drumset).

Wish they had some Buckcherry though.

I actually just read this on the Rock Band forums and listened to all the songs. All are decent. I'll porbably dl them all. Even though Vesuvius is free I'd like to listen to it before I dl it. I haven't been able to find it anywhere, and apparently neither has Joystiq. Help us out here people.

You can't find Vesuvius because they technically don't exist. They're a faux band created for the upcoming movie "The Rocker".

Wiki it. I'm speculating this a marketing tie-in.

the new Crue album actually sounds like it's going to be solid. Good to see them return to form.

I wish Rock Band would have one of the following, instead of musical bubblegum, baby metal, safe rock, tard rock, etc:

KMFDM (Adios and before)
Falkenbach
Forefather
Almora
Echo & The Bunnymen
Asia
Agalloch
Black Knight
Christian Death
Dire Straits
Epiclore
Freezepop (more!)
Golden Dawn
Interpol
Journey
Lemon Demon
Massive Attack
Radiohead (more!)
Some Japanese music plz
Running Wild
Stormlord
Weird Al
Yes
Toto

Agreed on the ones from that list that I've actually heard of (that's about half of them).

Yes just gave me a huge boner. But there is some Rush and basically Rush started as a Zepplin and Yes cover band. Interpol would be fun but somewhat easy.

I agree with some of these.

Am I the only one who thinks we need a true epic(long) song on Rock Band?

Like some 2112 by Rush or Echoes by Pink Floyd?
Or even if we have to stay in this century, The Tain by The Decemberists(probably won't work very well without an accordion plug in though).

Whoa Monkeydog,

How about Meddle as a full album download? That's what I'm talking about. Animals would be a good one too.

I'm not upvoting you though, I prefer RB's current setlist more than the one you put :P

This is the Crue pack? How about some classic old-school Motley Crue instead of this crappy new stuff.

And where the hell is Iggy Pop or some Stooges by now? There's something everybody could appreciate.

Oh. I see what you did thar...

I'm not buying any more DLC until I see some "Who's Next."

I have even deprived myself of the Pixies.
SO what If I'm only hurting myself? I'm a man of principle. I bought this effin' thing because of that DLC specifically. It's false friggin' advertising.

By the way...

I just listened to the embedded DLC...

If Pixies and The Who are flippin' awesome, then this shit is the complete opposite of that.

Rock band needs to concentrate on current music more, i like seeing these bands up there, not motley crew but trapt and papa roach, not the best songs they could have picked, but its a step in the right direction. Now instead of grateful crap, the pixies, the cars (yea seriously, abortion rock band) why don't they put like Breaking Benjamin's Saturate CD, or maybe Lostprophet's Start Something, both of which are what I considered my greatest purchases.

As for old stuff... I'm really not a big fan of music pre 90's, I'm 21 and i want to hear and play music that I listened to growing up, not what my parents did, but they do need Smashing Pumpkins - Bullet With Butterfly Wings, Metallica is always good, except for um St. Abortion, and how about Journey - Don't Stop Believing?

Well I'm looking forward for tuesday and hopefully my buck helps in their decision to continue putting out this music for dlc. Just a thought, how about some Linkin Park, Alien Ant Farms' Smooth Criminal Cover, maybe Cake? Lemme hear some feedback!
