I really think that at this point it will eventually be canceled. Also think Heavy Rain for the PS3 is gonna be canceled. Just my two cents.

The sad thing is that Alan Wake was very playable when I saw it almost 9 months ago.

I think if they don't show it at E3, it's officially vaporware.

Ditto FFCC:CB on the Wii

Heavy Rain, though, I think will come out.

Better yet, Sega should sell all their franchises to a developer that can actually make good games.

Wii cant run F.E.A.R? Just like how it can't run Unreal Engine? So Red Steel never existed, and neither did this story.
http://games.kikizo.com/news/200711/083.asp
The Wii can run ANY game, whether or not the graphics would have to be scaled back is another issue.

3 Things you can expect in Kid Icarus:
1) Spammy projectiles FTW!
2) Spinning blade attack that can just go on forever if you mash the button enough
3) A storyline so bad, youd swear you were playing God of War

Maybe, but he needs more work. Fernando can say some crazy things sometimes, but nothing insanely bad. If you're going to use examples of how games can look decent on the wii, here's a protip: Don't use red steel.

I remember back in december of 06 (pretty sure it was around then), my friend managed to get a wii with a couple launch games and brought it over. I watched him play red steel and I was trying not to laugh at how shitty the graphics were. Several parts of the first level heavily reminded me of goldeneye 64 but spruced up just a tad. Not even mentioning that the actual game was pretty shitty.

So back on topic, you got potential kid but you need to get some of the NDF to take you under their wing and train you how to blindly defend nintendo the right way.

After waiting all night in the freezing cold for my Wii and getting home to play Red Steel I thought I was going to cry. I did throw up though, was probably the only game I've ever went back and demanded my money for. I got it too damnit, my money that is.

Wait why? Are you basing an unknown future (possibly) game on just random facts you pulled out of your ass? Wait, is that how he plays in Smash Bros?

Either way that is absurd. Also, God of War had a great story. And Pit isn't actually the greek mythology Icarus. I'd go on pointing out stupid things from your post, but I don't want to star with the whole Red Steel thing.

For all that Red Steel failed to do (which was quite a bit), it did do some things right: If you cut out the sword-fighting, the FPS controls alone were solid enough. In my case, anyway, the only time the controllers went batshit on me was when it was transitioning back from sword mode to gun mode

Red Steel did have moments of graphical greatness, but they were isolated. Largely what you saw was that it seemed like they took real time and effort putting together a number of select locations, and then had a B-team do the art assets for every other place in the game in two short weeks

Things have been really silent on the HL2E3 side of things. There wasn't even a preview at the end of E2 for E3 thing like there was at the end of E1 for E2.

Would not be surprised in the slightest if there was at least a small trailer about what the hell is going on. Possibly also something on Portal as well.

But then, I'm more hopeful that confident in those predictions.

Actually, when I think of good story telling, I think of Ocarina of Time, Metal Gear Solid. As someone who played Red Steel, it was pretty OK for a launch title. We weren't going to get something flawless right out of the gate. Ubisoft better step it up with Red Steel 2 later this year.

Heres the story in every God of War: Kratos must fight Random Greek God, so that he can repay his debt/ prove his worth, then along the way he fights mythical beasts, soldiers, Colossus's, then shoves his blade through said god's skull and takes his place. If it weren't for the ability to create the craziest combos since the last DMC, I can't see why somebody would play it

Look man i consider myself a bigger nintendo fanboy than even Fernando but seriously, OOT having a good story? Kid grows up in woods, kid leaves woods, kid finds 3 jewels, kid turns into adult, adult finds 6 other thingys, kid kills ganon. The game was excellent, at least a top 10 game ever, but the storyline wasn't all that. Twilight Princess had a better storyline AND better story telling no doubt. For the record, God of War 1 is cool enough to not need an awesome storyline (tho the storylins is OK) and it still had a solid ending. You want good story telling? Grab yourself a copy of Tales of Symphonia on the GC and play it on the Wii if you have to. It's one of the greatest RPGs of all time in my opinion and the storyline is long, epic, and twists more times than every FF combined.

Yeah, I think they're just making educated guesses.

So I can do the same!

• Alan Wake: I give it 40% chance of showing up
• Kid Icarus: 45% chance of showing up
• HL E3: 00%! Valve already said no!

example of good story telling , NOT GOOD STORY. Their is a difference. If it weren't for the way the story was told in MGS, it would be complete and utter craziness. The story in Ocarina of Time was the same thing its always been, but the way it was told was what gave it that deep immersion factor necessary for a story to be believable.

I'm actually quite interested in what YOU consider good story telling in a video game.

Actually he has a point. Some games have great stories, but poor execution. Vice versa for others. So even though most of the Zelda games follow the same story, the way that they are presented and told through character actions/interactions are different.

Wait. I think that people are confusing "storytelling" with "dialogue" or "plot". If you're going by what would be considered a traditional storytelling arc, then Ocarina nailed it; that element of the game was just fine.

Kid Icarus Wii better not be a Pit-Zelda skin. They should do a genre that they haven't done yet.
I think a full fledged ARPG is something Nintendo haven't tried yet. Something like the Tales series. They also don't have a really good Hack n Slash game like GoW or NG.

With the very strong possibility that Factor 5 is doing Kid Icarus, i would err on the side of an action title which, if not linear, will only be adventure-esque in that you can freely transition between areas

My guess is that they would make it much like it was: a fusion of Zelda-esque action, Ice Climber-esque platforming, and Metroid-esque exploration, but with more focus on the first of those than any other factor
