Capping off the plethora of good information from Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Kaz Hirai's business briefing,
White Knight Story (known in Japan as
Shirokishi Monogatari) is expected to arrive during Sony's Fiscal Year 2008, which is the period between now and April 2009. We haven't heard much about Level 5's epic since its showing at Tokyo Game Show in
September 2007. Here's hoping we see more at next month's E3 Media and Business Summit.
The other titles listed were already confirmed for FY08:
MotorStorm: Pacific Rift (this Fall),
Killzone 2 (February 2009),
Resistance 2 (this Fall),
LittleBigPlanet (October 2008),
AFRIKA (August 28 for Japan) and
Secret Agent Clank (already out in North America, due next month in Europe).

Sweet, the end of this year is going to be RPG overload.

Not excited about anything Level 5 creates anymore (EXTREMELY disappointed by rogue galaxy) until they announce Dark Cloud 3. Seriously I want that game >:(
Noshino @ Jun 27th 2008 11:04AM
I actually loved Rogue Galaxy, I have over 200 hrs and I still finished the game...
The battle system did need a bit more work, but other than that, I really thought it was an amazing title, on of the last great titles on the PS2

*still haven't finished the game

The final bosses are an exercise in sheer frustration. That is only one of two times I've gone to youtube to see the ending rather than finishing the game. Of course, with 200+ hours of power behind you, maybe the (1 vs 1) x 8 fights will be a breeze.
Noshino @ Jun 27th 2008 12:13PM
actually, the final bosses were rather easy, you just needed to combine certain power ups...I think I bet the game in 40 or so hrs, what takes me long is doing all the extra stuff like finishing the missions and getting S ranked

Alas, I guess I just didn't have the right mojo.

AFRIKA!!!
FOXHOUND @ Jun 27th 2008 10:39AM
If we get the ability to drive the jeep in AFRIKA, I'm going to purposely agitate and ram over a hippo... just to instigate a similar chase scene like in JURASSIC PARK(jeep vs Tyrannosaurus Rex).
tmacairjordan87 @ Jun 27th 2008 10:44AM
Someone posted a link a while ago on the 1up boards that quoted the maker of the game and he said that no we won't be able to drive the jeep but I think we can at least ride in it.
Better than no jeep at all...right? :\

I heard a rumor that how clear your pictures come out is based on how steady you hold the controller...
I would love to drive the Jeep but I just want an elaborate campaign/mission structure which emphasises risk vs. reward.

Do the animals poop?
Noshino @ Jun 27th 2008 11:05AM
yah, apparently you control the camera with the sixaxis

Sweet I love the Alice books. The White Knight was one of my favorite characters.
LaughingTarget @ Jun 27th 2008 12:38PM
White Knight is the one PS3 game I've been most looking forward to. Hopefully this materializes into a solid release date.
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Jun 27th 2008 12:49PM
Pretty much. It's that and LIttle Big Planet that are the only things that interest me on the ps3. Sadly if I didn't have to worry about money, I'd probably buy a ps3 on impulse just for these two games. And then regret it immediately afterwards like I usually do.
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Jun 27th 2008 12:41PM
Honestly, out of all the games there, White Knight Story is the only thing that really looks interesting.
Jake11 @ Jun 27th 2008 1:36PM
resistance 2 multiplayer looks pretty cool, but nothing else on that list.
J.Goodwin @ Jun 27th 2008 8:04PM
Nothing new? Nothing unannounced?
WTF? My PS3 is getting dusty.
