His written script of Watchmen isn't the one being used for the film, although the script being used has borrowed from his.

As long as Hideo is a major part of the project I'd be ok with Hayter writing the movie.

The movie better be based on the first game, I swear if I see those "Jack and Rose" codec scenes from part 2 done by real actors I will hang myself.

No, this is Metal Gear Solid, not Metal Gear. Metal Gear Solid is the first in the series.

To clarify, I mean if they want to make a Metal Gear Solid film, it means they aren't going to start at Metal Gear.

Well, EcnobA, if you want to try and be a smarty-pants about it, it's technically the fourth game, as there were two canon games before MGS.

But pretty much everyone knew what Obie was talking about without your incorrect "correction."

MGS 1 will be the only one to make a film out of. Never played 4, but usually anything this a ': *Subtitle*' are turd. Anyway, I NEVER want to see a naked ladyboy running about and sneezing again. Especially not in this age of High Definition movies.

I hope they don't have him sneaking around with a whole squad like what they did with the Doom movie. Both games you're supposed be mostly be alone and movies never seem to leave it that way. Other than I am Legend and I thought that was great

MGS1 would be a solid movie by itself however david NEEDS to dub his voice in.

my mind wouldn't be able to process a actor playing snake unless he does.

Dude, a ton of other actors could do Snakes voice, and did you forget that Hayter is emulating "Snake Plissken" from the "Escape..." movies?

http://youtube.com/watch?v=3QIcUHg-IIk

Anyways, no dub would be silly.

Obbie,

Yah, we know that the character is based on Snake Plissken, but it still wouldn't be the same without Hayter

Then make Hayter play Snake, heck he looks like him.
No dubbing tho, it is always very obvious when one actor dubs another.

Also, the first two x-men were directed by the guy who did The Usual Suspects. The third was directed by the guy who did Rush Hour. I think thats all that needs to be said.

Sounds good to me. He wrote and co-wrote the scripts for the two good X-men films, knows the MGS series inside out, and is actually a fan of the series (he's the only voice actor from the origional game who actually played and completed it).

Hayter FTW, yah?

When have they ever made a good movie out of a videogame franchise? It's just better if they don't ruin another even if their intentions are good...

When has there even been a video game movie written by someone actually involved with the game itself?

Granted, his only work on MGS is voice actor. But he knows a hell of a lot more about this game than any other game-movie director has about the games they made movies of.

wait, didn't the movie just come out a couple weeks ago?

just kidding, I'd be all over this in a second, especially if he wrote it, or played snake. and if kojima was involved (WHICH HE SHOULD BE).

or if they have a different actor as snake just have david voice over them. sweeeet.

Game's aren't books. They don't a movie to show a visual representation of it, it's already there. Maybe in the 90's back when you could only get about 1000 colors on the screen at once, but games are near movie quality anyway. The only purpose a Metal Gear movie would have is tp make a quick dollar for those involved, since we know it will suck and will cater to a certain audience. Just leave the damn game alone...want a movie? Play the game.

It better god damn work. I'll be sending horse heads to Sony's office for the next 23 years if they screw this up. Let Kojima direct (with an established DOP) and Hayden play Snake. Dude might need some roids or a good muscle suit, but hey, I can't think of anyone else for the job.

Now everyone who can code, make a robot that sends Sony Pictures 500 emails a day concerning this matter. Mine is already done.

If a MGS movie HAS to be made, then yes, Hayter should write it. But do we really need one? If it doesn't fall the plot of one of the 4 games (I'm assuming it'll be the first seeing as that it's the only one that can really stand on it's own) then we pretty much know the full story already. And if it's an original story it's going to feel way too out of cannon.

A Halo movie I can get, because there's plenty of story to flesh out. Even some kind of a Grand Theft Auto movie might work. But Metal Gear? It's already a movie. Let it be.

I'd like to see a quadrilogy.

Same context as the game releases:

Solid
Sony of Liberty
Snake Eater
Guns of the Patriots

Halo movies are for people who need to be shot with a cattle gun btw. Don't be that guy.

Well I didn't say I actually WANTED to see a Halo movie. I just feel it would work a little better.

To me, a Metal Gear Solid movie would be like playing through The Twin Snakes. Might look a little prettier, but does that make it worth the price of admission?
