The one thing I didn't like was the final splash page. There was no transition from the last one. It just went in-your-face DIABLO 3!

To describe Diablo in terms of FPS, this is "brainless shooter."
This is a simplified RPG game supporting multiplayer where only goal of game is bash monsters. Quite entertaining, especially in MP mode.
In RPG genre, Diablo is something opposite to what Fallout is. First is senseless bashing, second is all about tactics and strategies. I'm pretty happy that both of the games are resurrected. I had no chance to play much of them in past.

This is worse than COD5 day. At least then I had played the seriesand, though I wasn't really interested, I could still understand what the game is all about. But what is Diablo? is it really that big a series to warrant 4/5 posts in a row.

Protip just because you've never played a hugely popular series doesn't mean no one else cares.

You're not the sharpest tool in the shed are you? Here's an idea: Go out and buy Diablo 1 & 2 (they're budget titles by now), play them, then come back and talk with all of us who have a fucking clue.
Or if you're REALLY lazy (which I suspect you are), at least read the freaking wikipedia article on it:

PS: actually don't bother- it's not coming out for Wii, so why should you care anyway?

It's alright, Obie. Eldee has been obsessed with me for me for a while now. I spurned his advances to cyber with him a few weeks back and now he won't stop harassing me.

I don't know why I'm bothering to say this, but you should at least give it a chance bowser. I've never touched a diablo game either but after watching the 20 minute gameplay clip I'm pretty pumped to get this.

Diablo 1 actually came out for playstation, so only playing console games isn't much of an excuse.

I'm not snapping at him because he hasn't played Diablo.. not everybody has played every game, nor can they be expected to. But making asinine comments about a series he's never even given a chance?
His post had an arrogant "why should I care?" vibe to it- and why should he care? He totally overlooked the first games, why bother even commenting on the third? That'd be like me downplaying something like a FIFA game when I know absolutely nothing about the series, the sport, or anything else. Long story short- at least read up on a game (or better yet, play it) before making a stupid comment like that.

Never played either Diablo game. I'd be interested to give this a go though since I don't really have anything in my collection like it.

"I and many others missed the Diablo craze."
Yeah, but you didn't come in here and start bitching about what's news worthy and what's not based on games you may or may not have played. And what's been posted so far is more than what's posted in an entire weekend most of the time.
I played the demo of the first game whenever that came out (96 or 97, don't remember exactly). It was enjoyable from what i can remember, but i was never one for these kinds of games.

Diablo Battle Chest, which includes Diablo I and II and an expansion pack, you can get for like $20 at any major retailer.

You suppose we'll ever see the day that Blizzard doesn't just keep flogging the same three franchises and actually come up with an original thought?
Of course, anybody with any talent at Blizzard left years ago, so that could b a problem...

Better yet you can go out to the Blizzard website and download the demo of Diablo 2. Give it a try if you missed it before.
