Come on Shep, don't waste time with the Arcade. No HD, no HD cables. You should want work more hours to buy one!

Once the Pro hits $250, and all the kinks are finally worked out, then I might jump in. $300 isn't quite cheap enough for the one or two exclusives that I'm interested in.

Good news going to $300 though, that'll probably get a few people buying.

I've had 2 360's since 2006 and 2007 and neither have had any problems whatsoever. You're not ever going to buy a 360, so just keep trolling.

Deaftly, I wish I had your luck. I was a five time ringer. Only two people I know with a launch unit haven't ringed.

That's awesome you've gone without it, but it's still a valid concern.

Maybe the RRoD was a regional issue because a group of us camped outside a Sam's Club to get our X360's on launch day and none of us have had a RRoD yet and that was nearly 3 years ago.

I think the issue was overblown but it really doesn't matter now anyway since everyone now has a warranty when they buy one.

deaftly, MS is spending 1 billion dollars on fixing systems, and you're pretending it's not something to be worried about? Who's the troll here?

Hear hear. 360 with RRod is a fail no matter what the price is. I know that they have 3 year warranty but what if ur 360 dies on you on the 4th year. And the fact that it COULD Rrod the next time u turn it on is just a terrible feeling.

Well, I had 2 red rings before my 360's mobo fried, then, MS was nice enough to let me ship it to them and pay the everyday low price of $169 so they could fix it. F that. I like the 360, love the games, love the online.

Neal, the warranty is only a year and it doesn't cover everything. I know someone who hasn't gotten the RRoD, but his 360 freezes constantly, has gouged some discs, and the LAN connection periodically drops. He has to keep a fan blowing on it constantly just to make it semi-playable. None of that is covered by the extended warranty... and his unit is over a year old anyways.

Now if those elites could take a $50 dive, I'd snag it now instead of waiting for GEARS OF WAR2(and any possible bundle)... :d

right on i just upgraded to an elite made in march of 08 , the difference from a launch system to now was highly noticable. less heat, less noise, less pop in

Isn't everything getting cheaper to make so how come the Wii hasn't put a 65nm in there CPU and GPU and drop that price to $200. They'll make a ebven more profit and sell way more and plus it should be eaiser to produce or faster.

Also if everything is getting cheaper to make then M$ should lower the price on all those accessories I mean I've been waiting to get a wireless adapter but the price is too expensive for a piece of plastic when a Pelican one does the same thing but I rather buy the real deal made by M$ and I don't trust ordering stuff from online when my prostreet came looking brand new but had a completely different game in it(used but they said like new). They still sell there hardrives for too much eventhough I own an Elite I still want one in white so just in case my Elite dies I have a back up. They should lower everything then they'll actually make more then what they do now and they should lower
the Elites cost and reveal a 60GB it would make my day at E3.

Nintendo is the only console maker out there that's actually raking in the cash. People are buying Wii's in droves so what on earth would possess them to drop the price?

"I think the issue was overblown"

I don't know how people can come to this conclusion. Microsoft took a $1.1 BILLION dollar charge two quarters ago to address this issue. They obviously take it seriously. Put that in perspective. Microsoft claimed they had a profit in E&D last quarter. $89 million. How many profitable quarters like that are needed just to earn back that unexpected $1.1 billion charge?

It was a huge issue, that rightfully blogs like Joystiq and Kotaku kept alive so Microsoft would do the right thing. Which they did.

Release one with built-in WiFi, please. The adapter will now cost 1/3 of the base system, which is ridiculous.

Even more ridiculous is actually buying the insanely overpriced adapter when you can get the same functionality out of a $10 wireless router flashed with third-party firmware such as DD-WRT, OpenWRT, or Tomato and placed in bridge mode.

Unless, of course, the form factor of the official adapter is worth $100 to you. Personally, I'd much rather save $70 or so and have a multi-function, DD-WRT based router around that I can use with other devices. It will come in handy during the 6 months out of the year that the 360 is either RRoD'ing, in transit, or lost somewhere at Microsoft repair center.

most of you guys don't know nothing!... anything that is been made will always have a flaw in it. thats how its always been, don't ever expect anything perfect cause it will never be even when you try to make a kid lol boun to be a flaw in them too.. the thing is that when you create a mass number of items part of them will have problems just like the xbox 360, im sure you have some problems with your other stuff too hmm lets see a cell phone is a good example. it takes time preparation materials to creat a console bare ini mind this reflect the price of the console that explain why the ps3 is so high when first launch,, so a price cut is not a desperation but more of a tactic to get to the ones that see the $50 saving would go to the purchase of a game. it will always come back to MS lol..

so watch those tv shows, hot its made, how do they do it. it would give you a second point of view on what it takes to make something, pretty cool, but most of you will be complaining bout life than undestanding it.. lol
