I think you're exaggerating on the difficulty aspect. Sure, it's not as easy as some other RPGs, but if you take your time instead of rushing through to the end, it really isn't that hard.

As for the story, I hope it's going to have at least as much depth as EO 1.

Yay for not running out of map symbols and memos.

Dramamine for the movement? Well, if it moves as smooth as EO 1, you won't need any.

It's smooth -- it's just the scenery kinda rushes by when you move! It took me a little to get used to that.

And definitely a good call on taking time. That's kind of the crux of this whole game; working through everything, finding the best way, and not just zerging in and throwing whatever you happen to have at the fights.

Would it be worth Picking up #1 first or could I pick up this one just fine?

Except for a few references here and there to things that happened over in Etria, this game has no connection to the first.

Thanks. Think I'll end up giving this a shot sometime. Playing FFTA2 though, so it may be a while ;D.

The first game is definitely worth picking up though, but since it's Atlus, you'll have a hard time finding even a second-hand copy.

> punishing-but-fun

you are ... masochists or what?

probably in next version they should also include special button - "lose" - for instant death. that would be fitting.

I picked this up for some entertainment on several flights I'll be taking over the course of the next month.

I played it for ~2 hours just to get into the swing of it. And I ended up with a fully dead party no less than 5 times in a half hour. Damn crawlers getting 40-hp shots.

I don't remember as punishing of a game since Dungeon Magic (NES) or Might and Magic 3 (SNES).
