July 15th, Rock Band gets The Who DLC

You've been waiting for it, you've been demanding it and you've been whining for it for the past year. Rock Band downloadable content from The Who will officially be making its way into the Rock Band DLC library on Tuesday, July 15th. Woo-Who!

Confirmation of The Who DLC comes from the official press release announcing Rock Band 2, where they mention that twelve songs from The Who including "My Generation" and "Who Are You" will release to the XBLM for $1.99 a track (160 MS points) or as a bundled download for $19.99 (1600 MS points). Note though that The Who DLC will NOT be the entire Who's Next album but will instead be a compilation of twelve tracks. The reason being that (as rumored) they had troubles locating the master recordings of certain songs. No matter though, we're getting twelve tracks from The Who, so be happy!

So technically this isn't really Who's Next at all... it's more of a Who compilation? Oh well. I wonder what else they managed to get on it.

I can't remember what songs were on the lost masters either, personally.

Well yeah, but the master for one side of the two sides. I forget which one it is, but I feel like it was side 1.

Who Are You and My Generation are from a different album entirely. So I don't know, I'm just wondering what else they've stuck in here to get 12 songs.

~but i am a little disappointed, we have been promised a Who's Next album since Rock Band was introduced over a year ago! Too bad they just went half-ass but its better than nothing...

If HMX went half-assed, we wouldn't have received any of The Who. HMX teamed up with The Who to deliver a 'best of' pack since some of the masters went missing. It was a good move if you ask me.

dont get me wrong... i have been waiting for this for a long time; this was just the first I heard of the replaced tracks and I am let down. I am still a buyer!!

all i can say is that Pinball Wizard better freaking be available.

If there is no Pinball wizard in this I am not buying it! Pinball Wizard or bust!!! Who are you would be nice too.

Is it just me, or does the monolith in that picture bear a striking resemblance to a certain white console?

i've been saying for ages to my mates their should be some more Who on her and finally we're getting some now all we need is some of The Beatles and Queen.

i've been saying for ages that we need some more Who on Rock Band now all we need to make it awesome is some Beatles, Queen and Journey and then i'll be all set for summer

In response to Tony; it would have to be side A, if that was the case with the lost masters, because Won't Get Fooled Again and My Generation are from side B.
