Castlevania Judgment to feature Wii-DS connectivity

Of course, not every connection with real Castlevania games will be severed -- in fact, you can hook up the upcoming DS game, Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, to "unlock bonus gameplay content." Castlevania Judgment will also support head-to-head (Belmont-to-Belmont?) play via Nintendo's online service, perfect for those times when you just want to lash out at internet strangers. Whips! They did it again.

Hm. Very interesting.
samfish @ Jul 1st 2008 3:40PM
Can you use the DS to make Simon Belmont NOT wear a bondage outfit?
FOXHOUND @ Jul 1st 2008 3:42PM
I didn't notice it before... but the sky, Dracula's smile, and Simon all look pretty... um, "man-friendly". x_x;
playwhutyalike @ Jul 1st 2008 3:42PM
I've been a bad, bad, Belmont. Speaking of Belmonts can you unlock the character from the cartoon series because I would love to beat his ass.
samfish @ Jul 1st 2008 3:46PM
Too bad for Dracula that Simon's whip is flacid. It's so long, too.
Also, I never noticed it before and now it's really bugging me, but the clouds are in front of AND behind the moon.
THERE ARE NO CLOUDS IN SPACE!
Fernando Rocker @ Jul 1st 2008 3:54PM
Is not a moon. Is Dracula's nail.
Titanium_Orchid @ Jul 1st 2008 4:14PM
I can never look at this picture the same way again.
Thank you for breaking my brain.
Ironraptor Albion @ Jul 1st 2008 4:24PM
Doesn't the picture of the vamprie look an AWFUL lot like another antagonist?
Now.. pale face, red lips, evil smile, where have i seen this before?
OH YES!

Ironraptor Albion, that's the box art from the NES Castlevania. Long before that Batman cartoon.
John Z @ Jul 1st 2008 3:40PM
"Whips! They did it again."
That was awful. You can do far better, Ludwig. Remember, when you post weak-sauce puns like that, it's your reputation at stake.
samfish @ Jul 1st 2008 3:42PM
I get it!
. . .
Oh, NOW I get it!
Ludwig Kietzmann @ Jul 1st 2008 3:48PM
I dunno, John, I think my enjoyment of a pun is inversely proportional to how good it is.
(Besides, I've already used "Fang you very much.")
playwhutyalike @ Jul 1st 2008 3:41PM
Okay, just cracked the new Nintendo power and it is a fighting game (didn't bother to read Joystiq's article). Personally, it's a pass for me. I don't get into the fighting games.
Hope it's pretty descent for those interested though.
Dopple Boppler @ Jul 1st 2008 3:44PM
So how 'bout that Mega Man 9.
Fernando Rocker @ Jul 1st 2008 3:47PM
Oh... that would be nice. Wii transfer to the DS.
By the way... the thread was updated. Capcom clarified that Megaman 9 is WiiWare only.
=p
Atr-Slzr-Ctr @ Jul 1st 2008 4:44PM
And why that gay "=p" face again?
Mr Khan @ Jul 1st 2008 5:06PM
"slash, stab and whip their way across a variety of stages and environmental elements,"
Doesn't sound like a 3D fighter i would object to. My problem with most fighters is the featureless arenas, and if they make it more like, say, the way Wii Force Unleashed has their duel mode going, with larger environments that actually have things in them, it could make it stand out from the 3D fighter crowd
Which is beneficial, because it's a hard crowd to break into
Sam @ Jul 1st 2008 5:08PM
There's so much potential for games that utilize a handheld system along with the TV display, it drives me crazy that the only use most developers can think of is to have it unlock content.
Someone in the industry, please go play the first Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles and Pac-man Versus (Gamecube) and get back to us with some real ideas.
Lewis (GT: StoneRevolver) @ Jul 1st 2008 5:28PM
Why Wii? *sigh*
Shaq-Fu @ Jul 1st 2008 6:29PM
Hmm I'll save my judgement (sorry) until after we get more details. Sort of sounds more like a beat em up, go through the castle and fight enemies room by room (probably how story mode will go) rather than something like SF IV. Online is a plus, but I'd trade this and every other Konami game this year to get Winning Eleven 09 on the Wii
Kael @ Jul 1st 2008 7:45PM
A fighting game? Uh, okay. I guess.
3cubed (4squared plus 2squared) @ Jul 1st 2008 7:53PM
Well it could be worse. At least its not a mini-games collection.
