Silicon Knights' long-awaited Xbox 360 action game Too Human is giving a shout out to a N64 classic, according to Wired. GoldenEye 007, the groundbreaking console FPS developed by Rare, featured a gun called the "KLOBB" – a nod to then Nintendo designer Ken Lobb, who helped out during the game's development. The gun was also the weakest in the game. D'oh!
Too Human promises hundreds of items ... and one of them, as Wired has uncovered, is the KLOBB. Not surprising considering that Ken Lobb is now serving as Creative Director at Microsoft Game Studios and is working closely with Silicon Knights on its game. For the record, it has a damage rating of 18.

You have to love "Ancient Alloyed Rifle of Effectiveness." Are we sure that isn't just a placeholder?

Growing up playing golden eye multilayer, we had a rule that you couldn't shoot someone till they had a gun themselves, and a Klobb didn't count as a gun...

And the other Goldeneye rule used in many households: no playing Oddjob.

Strange, I remember that the Klobb was one of the more fun weapons in Goldeneye (and one of my favorites, next to the Dostevei). Especially when you used the All Weapons cheat and dual-wielded it...

Yeah, I totally agree with you Greyfox. Initially I was really pumped for this game, but I've grown more apprehensive as I learn more about the game, especially some of the design choices they've made with the gameplay.
Speaking of which, if anyone's interested, I just wrote an article about what I consider to be "The Best and Worst of Too Human":

WELL, that seems pretty cool... but I have a hard time remembering that gun in the game.

While the Klobb is truly crap, I found it worked rather well on one-shot-kills. It's ludicrous inaccuracy meant that it's fire sprayed all over the place, increasing your chance of hitting the enemy somewhere when there's not enough time to aim. From what I hear, that's one of the reasons people liked the Kalashnikov

Everyone knows the best gun in Goldeneye was the RCP-90

Sure the Klobb was weak, but at least AIs could fire it point blank and through prison bars, something they couldn't figure out with the KF7. Also, it was one of the more rapid guns in the game, making it a superior choice for license to kill mode.

I'm still sad they didn't bring this game to XBLA.
