With initial previews of Silicon Knights' Too Human painting the long-in-development action RPG as a few miles short of Valhalla, IGN has stepped up, offering the developer a handful of advice concerning items that site would like to see corrected before the game ships in August.
According to IGN, among the issues needing a little extra lovin' are the game's lock-happy camera, random loot drops, and "sluggish" framerate, as well as a general lack of combat hand-holding and backstory -- each of which the site is only too happy to offer up a helpful tip or two to correct. Of course, with Dyack and Co. set to take their seemingly flawed action romp on the road next month, we doubt that a few choice words from an outside source will help right a decade of stumbling.

Yeah, except it gets an automatic 3 -oint bonus from IGN for not being a PS3 game, so more like 7.5

It is not a good sign when gamesites are trying to tell you how to fix your game a few days before it's complete.

approx. 48 days to completion. Assuming that these are the only problems the game has, ~48 days seems like enough time to tackle these issues.

48 days would be assuming that they are going to be working on the game until it appears in stores the next day. Even if they did have 48 days, which they don't, what makes you think they can fix something in under 2 months that they haven't been able to fix in a decade of development?

As long as the camera isn't as bad as Ninja Gaiden 2... I wanted to decapitate myself when playing that game.

I'm guessing that we mark IGN, Wired, MTV Multiplayer, and NeoGAF in Dennis Dyack's "Against" chart.

it's sad how Dyack's comments a few years back can create such hatred for his latest game. When has Silicon Knights ever failed us? At least give the game a chance to go gold before judging.
Hell, this is the weakness of the industry -- the need to show titles in development. Movies and books don't do this shit, they dont' show anything that isn't finalized. Why do we expect it from game studios? It's a bad trend if people start criticizing works in progress.

This really isn't like Haze, it's more like another Daikatana.

Daikatana is the wrong analogy too, i think. Daikatana was in development for a long time, true, but what they wound up doing was just release what they had, which meant they released a game in 1999 on the PC and N64, a game that would've been on the cutting edge a few years before was by then dated
If they were releasing the PSX version of the game they had been making, or even the GC version, then it would be a Daikatana

Daikatana is the right analogy, all the engine changes, and talk of making you their bitch, etc. seem to mirror Too Human with the platform changes and the smack talk coming from Dyack. It'll probably be an OK game like Haze that'll get panned without compassion.
