For those of you who can't see the video (it's really good stuff), we apologize. We've run into a technical error and are dealing with it as fast as we can.

Update: Videos are working now! Enjoy.

I'm a little confused. What exactly is the balance board doing here? I only see one foot on it and can't really tell when any motion is happening.

Like in the Wii Racing Xperiment, the Balance Board acts as a foot pedal. Even though my foot is moving considerably more than it did when I was using it to drive, the Balance Board doesn't have any travel, so it doesn't require any visible movement to register a response.

Saw the title and I got excited.. One my favorite freeware games ever! Everybody should go download it.

Really inventive Mike. Before I got to reading, the first thing I thought of was maybe using the IR pointer to steer the little guy around while playing the notes with the Z, A, and B buttons. This was great application of wii controls though.
Synaesthete makes me dream of amazing gaming possibilities, but it would need a lot of refinement if it wanted to take over the world. There's just not enough to the game.

Someday, a company has to release a hybrid music game with specialized peripherals which combine a platformer shooter music game.

Also, I was thinking that a homemade drum petal could be used (or even a real life petal) if you just strapped a wiimote to it somehow... I was thinking of a WiiZapper/WiiWheel type plastic shell that is a drum petal... It just wouldn't be precise enough.

Thanks for the awesome column Tiger!
