Latest Darksiders trailer is artsy, open, adventurous

Looks like we'll get to control a ~~god of war~~ War himself and do it with style in Vigil Games' open-world action game, Darksiders: Wrath of War. Considering that Joe "Mad!" Madureira of X-Men and Battle Chasers fame is the developer's creative director, the fact that it's looking smoking hot doesn't surprise us.

This new video of Darksiders features Madureira and Vigil's general manager, David Adams, talking about all of the nifty stuff you can see and do thanks to the game's open world nature. It's worth noting that the video is from the upcoming E3 demo of Darksiders, meaning that we'll get our hands on the game's latest milestone later this month to report on all the nitty-gritty (and pretty-pretty) details.

This game is like God of War crossed with the exploration and adventureish gameplay of Metroid Prime (in which one of the lead designers is now a part of this Darksiders team). I can't wait to play it!

that statue kicking puzzle looks almost exactly like God of War, as does the temple place. it still looks good though and it will certainly stay on my radar cause it looks damn fun.

Must I say this is better than inFAMOUS. looks cool might give those 360 owners who wanted a God of War game on they 360s a good scratching. i hope they don't completely mess everything up.

Yup I wanted this game for a while. It still doesn't look like it is disappointing. I can't wait to play it.

This game looks neat. I'm glad someone has some original ideas for settings occasionally.

The setup sounds a lot like Zelda, but with more advanced combat and platforming.

Somwhere Eric Dyack is watching this trailer going "oh fuck, oh fuck, we fucked it up, oh fuck" and starting a flame war at NeoGAF.

With Jim Lee doing DC Universe Online and McFarlane doing Copernicus, and now Madureira creating Darksiders -- Wow, there seems to be a total media shift within the comic industry.

I think it's like a Zelda game. Only darker, better-looking, and with what looks like a much-improved battle system. :)

I really want this game to be amazing...PLEASE BE AMAZING!
