We admit that we have an obsession with Little Big Planet, bordering on addiction. It's something with which we're trying our best to cope, a therapy helped somewhat by Media Molecule co-founder and technical guru David Smith. We like to think of his recent interview with Eurogamer as a kind of patch, letting information seep into our bloodstreams, taking the edge off as we pine for the game's October release.
Among the number of topics discussed, Smith spoke out in support of the game's beta testing, something he noted as being "in progress," and -- contrary to earlier reports -- that "it should gradually grow to include more people." In addition, with the recent addition of Trophies, he stated that the team is "having a lot of fun working out what trophies most fit" Little Big Planet, teasing that one will involve "making your sackperson be thrown at some huge velocity." Check out the full interview for more words strung together about Little Big Planet. We'll be quietly twitching in the corner.

I completely agree with you. It really doesn't seem like it would be that much fun.

No flak from me, I completely agree with you. It looks like something that'd be fun to play around with for an hour or two, but I just can't see myself spending a really lengthy amount of time with it.

You guys need to watch the gameplay vids where the guy explains how the game works. That is what swung me. I'm really hyped now. It is all about creating your own unique levels and designing cool physics based puzzles. Can't wait.

Well, to be fair, I understand the allure.
The game's got some nice graphics, and anyone who's played with Gary's Mod at all knows that goofing around with physics in a game engine can be a blast. Sometimes literally.
That said, anyone who's played Gary's Mod can also tell you that the fun only lasts so long. And though they are touting the creative aspect of LBP, I just don't see people being able to create things like they can in PC-based games, where you can go beyond in-game tools and really make just about whatever you want.
We'll have to wait and see on this one, but I think the hype is already outweighing what the team will ultimately produce.

You won't catch much flak, this site is full of 360 fanboys who will be sure to back you up on how overhyped and terrible this will be.

PS Don't be afraid to say your mind here. The SDF really isn't all that big and bad like they try to act like.

@RC - Of course, you are absolutely right. If we don't find the concept of LBP fun and compelling, we must be 360 or Wii fanboys.
And if you don't love America, you're a terrorist.

Whats so appealing about shooters, u just shoot people? But i understand what u mean. U need to read up on this game more. What this game is a bout is working as a team at some points but at other times u have to think for ur self. U need to collect fluff or something in each level and get the high score, and if u play verse someone they will try to do the same. At some points during levels u will have to work as a team to get past an obstacle. Then theres the user generated levels. Whats so great about this is that they give u very simple tools and u can make anything out of shapes.

U need to stop using the letter U everytime U want to say U. I think U and I and everyone else here knows that the way U are spelling U is really annoying and makes U look like U are really dumb. Please, if U could just type those extra two letters Ur posts would be a lot more readable.
Thank U.

Lots of people love N+, which is LBP but without the physics puzzles, great graphics, character customization, and less interactive co-op.
Unless you dislike platformers, I don't see how you could not like, or at least be interested in, LBP.

I was really excited for it at first, too, but I'm now at the point where I need to play it for myself. I used to enjoy making DOOM wads back in the day, but level editing doesn't hold much appeal to me anymore...although 2D platformers certainly do.
I'm taking a very cautious wait 'n' see attitude.

For those of you saying you don't get it, you should just watching the gameplay vids that actually explain the purpose and all.
And for those of you that say the fun only lasts so long, that could be a problem but because of the Playstation Store they can pretty much add in new and more exciting things every time Media Molecule notices that the game is getting tiring

wow are you serious? This, socom and MGS4 are the reason i even picked up a PS3 at this point in time. Game is going to be absolutely phenomenal. You just need a damn imagination.

It's not lack of imagination that's the problem... it's just lack of information about the title. Graphically, it looks above par, but gameplay & features will be the deciding factor for many, since it's most likely going to be $55-60 @ MSRP.
Of the trailers I've seen, it's usually 4 of them trying to make their way through a ToyStoryâ„¢-inspired, side-scrolling, level hopper.
With rag doll physics.
-rimshot- ;D

The media is really eating this game up I'll tell you that. Bet this game gets 10's. I kinda "get" this game. I heard its going to have levels and a story you can play through but the bread and butter is the user created content which I'm excited about myself.

Don't care. User-generated levels are cool but I'd rather spend the time playing than making.

What I find interesting is that all these sony fanboys who used to hate on achievements are now loving trophies. I just hate hypocrites.
For me I used to play all cross platform games on 360 and this takes that edge away, accept for the fact that I am so used to the 360 controller that I am beginning to dislike the six axis. I sure wish MGS has Trophies though.

Don't generalize, there are many that don't just want the trophies, for example, in my case, what I really want is the actual trophies, the ones that you can put around Home...
As of now, Trophies are just pretty much like the achievements, the measurement unit of e-penis of the PS3/360 users...
