The PSN never got hacked.... Playstation.com got hacked and that has nothing to do with the PS3 systems.

And what is it on playstation.com? Phishing scam. Only no one has lost their PSN account.

It still stands that: 1. The PSN was not hacked. 2. LIVE accounts have been compromised. 3. Xbox fanboys are pretending the opposite of both of the previous.

(I'm not calling turtle a fanboy, but there are plenty of them here)

Oh, so phishing scam does not count as because social engineering is not considered a form of hacking now? I'm sorry, XBL accounts WERE comprised due to poor security training at MS. That's the truth plain and simple. The PSN has not had it happen (yet) but who's to say that it won't? The FUD spread by some of the people on this site is simply unbelievable.

I enjoy both systems but Sony should be keeping their mouth shut at the moment. PSN getting hacked and new firmware bricking systems... now is not the time for sh*t talkin!

I have to agree. I know they are adding things that should had been in PSN from day one, and they are getting a bit arrogant now, but they need to worry about what they are going to do for the rest of the year now that MGS4 was released last month.

@MC double douche
First of all, your avatar, and your comment makes you come off as a complete jackass. If that's what you were going for, please don't be flattered.

This is the first firmware update that messed up a FEW ps3's. And sony was quick to ADMIT it and removed the firmware. Although not as quick as MS was to admitting they had an RROD issue, I'm sure. MS still hasn't admitted to all the other hardware issues.

how many firmware updates messed up xboxes? and you pay for that with ADs, at least! even though u can update for free. I mentioned the pay part because idiots have been saying the sony firmware update "failed" thanks to psn being free. Either way, MS, nor you has any credibility when it comes to Sony's current situation.

And this is nowhere near as fucked up as 360's RROD epidemic. People haven't brought up that story in a while, but we mention it every time a dick like you shows up. Put you back in the corner of the room where you belong.

Lastly, you're flat out wrong. PSN didn't get hacked........ PERIOD. Stupid.

Sadly, all the morons that voted you up knew you were full of shit, but they're so desperate for any negative misinformation about Sony they can get, since they're so insecure.

You must be new around here. If you're going to lie, don't pretend to be objective and be a little more creative, or stfu.

...actually, stfu anyway.

HEY EVERYBODY, HAVE A HAPPY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, SAAAAAAAFE, 4TH OF JULY! ;)

His avatar has become a kind of anti-DRM icon.

Meaning the video it is from and the DRM sony keeps pushing are equally absurd.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a good deal of content has already been removed from PSN, as far as I can tell. Game demo's inparticular don't seem to stick around for very long.

MS removing crappy Arcade games that nobody plays doesn't seem like such a big deal to me. But I do agree that the Market Place needs a redesign, so I hope those rumours are true. Although I wouldn't say the PSN is anything to gloat about, especially as almost everything they did with it seemed to be entirely influenced by Xbox Live.

Movie trailers (theatrical, DVD, and Blu-ray) are removed all the time. Only the latest ones stay up there.

Any bit of the rest of the content, however, has only very rarely been removed.

Yeah, they'll get taken off the main content pages, but if you go into View All by Title, you'll see lots of old stuff is still around. I just went in and saw an old Oblivion video that isn't on the normal Videos page, and the Lair OST.

Umm... Kyle Orland... having the 2.40 patch removed for the time being or myself having already installed it, doesn't mean your PS3 isn't working. You might want to rephrase that blatant lie at the end.

I guess it is a good idea to release all sorts of features after the release of the console than to have it set up. Oh, and releasing updates that completely fry everyone's hard disc. A broken XMB, Achievement....er, I mean Trophies, and broken in game chat are what makes a good PSN.

Idiots. Hey Kettle, know thy own color!

Noshino,

The 2.40 update caused problems and freezes and people got their hard drives with all their game and personal data erased. Not literally fried, as in it doesn't work anymore, but fried as in they lost all the data.

Hey Fenix, how do you change your pic? I go to my profile on Joysiq and upload a new pic but it never takes. Does it have to be a certain format like bitmap?

Have you seen all the new GOW multiplayer vids? CODWAW,RFOM2 and SOCOM can all sit and spin - all I want is my new Gears. Nov cannot get here soon enough.
