Bungie's next project, something to do with a Superintendent?

We recently stumbled across some very interesting Bungie related news over on the NeoGAF forums that we've A) never heard about and B) feel ashamed for not not having heard about it previously. It's news that (allegedly) pertains to Bungie's next super secret project and the possibility that they've been dropping subtle hints these past few months. Odd and confusing hints that all point to the little janitor-looking "Superintendent" character you see above.

As the story goes, way back in May of this year, this mysterious (and adorable) Superintendent artwork has been making appearances on Bungie posts, has been seen on employees' tshirts, has been spotted on the Bungie.net forums, has appeared on the Bungie webcam and has even been seen in the latest Cold Storage ViDoc with text reading "KEEP CLEAN". What does this all mean? Does this really have to do with Bungie's next secret project? If so, will it be a janitor sim? Will the Superintendent character grace Monday's free Bungie Day gamer picture pack? Why is the Superintendent giving us a thumbs up while holding a plunger? We have no idea, but hopefully next week's celebration of Bungie Day will make things more clear. OMG. I think it has a name: Plungie! Yes, I went there.

no offense but id edit this becasue it has nothing to do with a project. in there you said it started appearing in may, guess who left bungie in may. (frankie). ive heard many rumors before but this one takes the cake. the superintendent's name on bungie.net is IIIIIII, thats 7 individual (i)'s. he only posts on bungie.net saying his motto, KEEP IT CLEAN or he says REPORT VIOLATORS. this is just a stupid conspiracy theory.

Ok so this is how I think about it. Yes there is a possibility that this could hint at the next bungie game but it could also just be some "save the environment" thing. It could just be some inside thing that a Bungie employee started to clean the environment up...

That being said I am probably wrong. My other geuss is that it is a very small part of there next game. An I icon sort of like the cube in Portal.

Didn't Nintendo say they could have made a Halo but decided not too? Essentially dissing bungie? This may be a arcade title with a plumber as bungie might be making a italian plumber game (ie Mario)?

Was that a joke when lukems said that they were a multi-project studio now? Does this mean we're getting a new Halo and something else?

they have already said that there won't be another halo. I would just say wait for E3 for confirmation that it is something worth noting.

I meant the rumored Helljumper game and not necessarily Halo 4.

Actually I believe Bungie have already said they are working on the Peter Jackson Halo project with Microsoft, their own Halo game and a non-Halo game.

I do know that they were helping with the eter Jackson game but they weren't developing it. So a new Halo game and a hopefully significantly different game (I just want to see something other than a shooter from them) would fall under a multi-game studio.

You guys have it all wrong. lukems said they are going to be a multi project studio, and one of their side projects have to do with this plunger icon guy.

BUNGIE'S NEW PROJECT! Their very own patented blend of a colon clenser: Colon POW![el]... "keep it clean AND regular." hense the icon guy has a plunger... easy.

nothing makes sense really. oh and i noticed that if you turn the superintendent picture upside down he's giving a thumbsdown :D yeah not much, but hey anything helps...

and yeah i really would like to know but it is not the biggest thing in the world

Since we'll probably find out a little bit more about it tomorrow or during E3, I'd like to throw my hat into the ring by guessing what this will end up being: A third person action adventure (with a slight sprinkling of platforming) that allows players to control a character with a plunger. The plunger can be equiped with different power ups and is used to solve puzzles. The game will take place in a sewer and various other dirty locations.
