Shouldn't the first question be.. Why did one of these kids have a gun to begin with?
I believe that is a bit more important than why he shot him.

I was just about to ask, why does he have a gun in the first place..?

And i'm sure it's not all because of the psp alone.
it's like looking at a picture, there's always several meanings.

In this case, for example:

- This guy LOVES his psp.
- He has a grudge against the other guy
- He was just overreacting
- Butterfingers!
- He's clearly been affected by his psp, which has addled his brain and therefore cause him to shoot his friend/enemy.

I know which one I'd believe.

When every 5-year-old kid in America owns a gun, don't expect shootings to be so scarce.

With a headline like that you should be working for the main stream media.

The headline really sucks, the PSP definitly did not CAUSE the shooting.

Here's another, far crueler story that involves two PSPs:

I live in Jacksonville too. It is rough. We hear about a shooting/murder everyday, that's not an exaggeration. I blame the kid with no common sense.

Remember, kids: guns dont kill people, vidya' games kill people.

I lived in Oceanside, California most of my life and, it was like this constantly. If you are in a gang and you already kill people you wont think twice about it if someone takes your car, psp, ipod, et cetera. There are probably some stories about guys who shot guys who stole their shoes or somthing.
Its kindof like that guy who threw the dog off the cliff in Iraq. You kill all the dogs you see upon sight because of rabies concerns, not to mention the people you kill and thow into pile at the end of the day. Then you find a dead dog and throw it off a cliff. Desensetization is the word.

"PSP caused teen to shoot another teen"

Really, Alan Tsang? Really?

Don't you think video games have enough of a PR problem in the media what with people like Jack Thompson and Hillary Clinton? Whatever was going on between those kids I can pretty much guarantee that an inanimate object was not the sole reason one of them shot the other.

Your headline is disingenuous at best and I am saddened to see that it was apparently not questioned at any point during the editing process.

I see nothing wrong with the headline. It's no different than "Under-Cooked Dinner Causes Wife to Shoot Husband" or "Man Shoots another Man for Car." Of course there's more to the story but the headline is intended to grab your attention.

That's journalism 101

Bravo Alan Tsang, very nice title to your article. Just the kind of article titles that parent organizations need to start protests and blame Sony and developers again for game violence and whatever else. Think, you dumb**s. If you want attention get a dog.
