I am gonna buy the games they release just because they care so much about us gamers. Burnout Paradise is gonna buy inside my PS3 when Cagney comes out. They have extended the lifetime Burnout Paradise with their coming updates and also have shown they care about us. They have earned my respect and I will continue to buy their games in the future because I know they will not charge me money for horse armor. Criterion, you have my respect.

Airplanes... in Burnout?

I wonder if there will be any "John Denver" achievements... maybe "9/11 Flashback"?

I dont see how they could fit planes into dlc but if they manage to do it, Wow !!!

I think that Criterion is leading the way not only for ways to support games after their release but also in helping EA (slowly) change their image.

They kept their identity while being part of that huge company and they seem to be able to do things their way...

We can only hope that things will turn out the same way with additions like Bioware and Pandemic as well as other DEVs that have been under the EA logo.

Still can't figure out why EA closed EA Chicago... yes Def Jam Icon didnt sell well but did earlier Def Jam titles sell more ? These were the guys that made Fight Night Round 3; Being shut down one flop after such a hit is kinda ridiculous.

EA really needs to encourage independant tought and ideas and not force bad sequels if they expect good things to come out.

I agree with the above comments. While I'm not really all that happy with the free-roaming nature of Burnout in Paradise (I preferred 3 and Revenge) and they totally gimped Crash mode, I have to give them a ton of credit for continuing to support their game for such a long time and more importantly, releasing such high quality content for free.

Stupid. How far do they want to stray from an actual racing game?

It's not stupid. It's awesome. Burnout was far from an "actual" racing game for as long as the series has been around. Actual racing games suck. They're boring. I can actually drive a real actual car, so why would I want to play an "actual" racing game. Boring.

Burnout Revenge on the 360 was a superb racing title. It combined fast speed and dangerous tracks to create a fantastic racing experience. Burnout Takedown did the same.

I was top 20 in the world in both titles, and it's frustrating (for me) to see these games take a turn towards just messing around in the open world, as opposed to fast and exciting racing...like it used to be.

I was just about to post the same. It's strange it's taken so long for this to appear. Although, they did also say it probably wouldn't appear in the game.

If they put in planes, I would buy it- the game I mean, not the update... but I would buy the update too.

YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!

I love Criterion.

I think Burnout Paradise sold "ok", not great, and this is the way they are trying to give the game some legs, by flooding it with high quality DLC over a whole year. It's a fantastic approach.

And they are the Kings of cross-platform development too, they make everyone else look dumb in this regard.
