The original worked fine on the PSX, Don't see why this couldn't work on current gen systems. PS3 would be the most logical choice seeing how tying BNET to PSN would be the easiest since its more open then XBLive.

They could also give the player the option of using KB&M if they want to like UT3 does.

I'd buy the console version simply because i know my PC would not be able to run it (yeah i'm poor, can't afford to buy a complete brand new PC). Blizzard are a smart dev team. It shouldn't be hard for them to get a comfortable control scheme working with the controller as well as a user interface (UI) thats specially for the console versions. Of course the interface would not be the same as the PC version but that might not be as bad as everyone imagens.

Out of all Blizzards franchises, Diablo would be the easiest to work on consoles. Heck, Live is practically like Battle.net in a lot of ways (apart from the fact Live costs money). Joining up with 8 of your friends on your friends list would be a great co-op experience.

I would like to see Diablo III on 360 in the future. I hope they will consider the ports. I'm a lot more used to play co-op or multiplayer on 360 than on PC.

Watching PC fanboys desperately cling to one of their last remaining meaningful exclusives is hilarious. Listen pc fanboys...Any game of yours can be made to run on consoles. Whether the console version's aren't quite as good as the pc version is irrelevant. I say that because it's common knowledge shooters control better on PC but they are still great on consoles.

I remember when they said shooters couldn't run on consoles, RTS games can't be made to run well on consoles, and now for some reason a game where you do mostly clicking can't be done on consoles.

It can be done and will eventually be done whether it's Diablo 3 or some other game.

I'm amazed that in this day of console-only ports, Blizzard has the balls and confidence that their games can survive the pc "pirates".

Most of their games rely on online play on closed servers. It's really not that big of a risk.

Yeah if you don't care for online play then it doesn't really matter. I know several people who pirated warcraft 3 and diablo 2 a while ago and I'm told it plays perfectly *shrug*

Yeah, you can pirate Diablo II, but it's nearly pointless. What really keep player going back on Diablo II is the drive to collect better gear. When you play offline or in Open B. Net everyone cheats. You can get the best gear, or even custom gear, with hacks. It makes playing anywhere except on closed B. Net pointless. You're not really accomplishing anything otherwise. That's why it's not really a risk for Blizzard. Their games are at their best when played in online closed servers.

No way. I am a huge console fan and this would be absolutely retarded.

Diablo is one of those games that just wouldn't work on a console, deal with it. If you want to play Diablo 3 and your computer is really THAT bad, suck it up and spend a few hundred bucks for a new one.

I say a few hundred bucks because Blizzard designs games to run on pretty much any computer released in the last 5 years, and they have said Diablo 3 will be no different.

I'd possibly be interested, if this was released on PS3/360. But otherwise, I'm not going near it. I like how all the elitest PC fanboys are claiming that there's some kind of massive depth to the game, that console owners wouldn't be able to keep up with.

Very amusing.

I know right? When they used to do their RTS games can't run on consoles at least they had a reasonable argument in that there were too many controls to port to a controller (even though that was eventually proven wrong).

With Diablo they're just being silly and acting desperate.

I often got over 100 actions per minute in Warcraft 3. Doing that on a pad would be both extremely difficult, and extremely uncomfortable, so no, RTS games are still better on a PC. Much better.

Also, the idea of console versions annoys me for four reasons; one, if i was to play on the console version on, say, a 360, I'd have to go and subscribe to their gold account, whereas Battle.net is free. Two, playing Diablo 3 with a pad sounds doable, but, once again, far less comfortable than a mouse and keyboard and probably much slower, too. And three, the fact of a multi-format release would fragment the player base, making realms less populous and there being generally fewer people to play with. Then there's the Live community; I don't use mics on games most of the time, unless I'm playing with friends and i need to not be typing much at all, but if that was the only form of communication in a co-op heavy game on Live!? No fucking thank you.

I’m totally in agree with A Pissed-off English Gamer argument since is the truth.

The reasons I think Blizzard don’t’ want to go with consoles is very simple: Only a handful of console gamers know Diablo and even less people have actually play it.

Now Diablo 3 is not pushing the limits of PCs in fact I believe any recent computer can handle it like Team Fortress 2 but for the People who stop upgrading after 2005 is a pain in the arse and yes I would love to see it in consoles I already have but Blizzard isn’t being unreasonable like let’s say the people behind Crysis.

Believe it or not Diablo uses more controls than it looks and the most important feature are potions because in Hell difficulty you are going to get your arse kicked and 1 potion can save your life.1 potion can be the difference between returning using a town portal with just 1hp and being killed in the 4 level of Hell.

The Ps3 could handle it but again most of you haven’t play Diablo and the console gamer for a fact only knows JRPG and a few RPGs. Most JRPGs (I know this is dangerous but for Diablo being Downvoted is worth it) suck compared to Diablo or aren’t good enough, is not that the game is that deep but the average FF fan would rather create fan fictions about a apparel universe where Aeris is saved and turned in to a furry than playing the awesomeness of Diablo where you are going to hell to stop the evil forces for the reason they want you dead and they are paying you for doing it, even the side quests are great.

Basically doing it for consoles would require and huge investment that might never return to them. The Ps3 version even if done right may never sell like MGS4 or the Ps3 version could be a port of the xbox 360 version which could be dumbed down.

I hate to upgrade my PC but for Diablo 3 is worth it also you don’t need a really awesome Pc to run Diablo 3 apparently. It seems any decent computer from 2007 and ahead could run it.

(Huge text wall is Huge,I will resume it in a few words:Cry me a river fanboys and Blizzard Where the hell is my necro? you are only guys who can do Necros right )

Why does everything have to come to console? Enough already with every single pc game "coming to console?" bs. Just play the damn games the way they were intended. D3 will run on just about every single PC/Mac out there, so there shouldn't be bitching from the nonPC gaming crowd anyway. good day.

Diablo articles really get the PC fanboys rabid. This game would be fine on a gamepad. There is no reason a well-made port wouldn't be fine on a console. This should be obvious

Bottom Line: If it's not on consoles, I won't buy it.

I am no longer a heavy-duty PC gamer. I don't upgrade my hardware every six months to play a game. I have better things to spend my money on, and I have a console that has the hardware necessary to play games efficiently.

I doubt that this game would run on my current computer. As it's a laptop, my upgrade path is limited, and I'm not interested in upgrading just to play one game.

So my only choice is my Xbox 360, which has been good enough for other PC games. If Bliz doesn't support consoles this time around, they're only getting their hardcore base and not expanding. If they're going to put money into development, they might want to aim for the largest gaming crowd there is, currently. That's not on PC or Mac. That's consoles.

No consoles = no sale.

The largest base for Blizzard games in on PC/Mac, and by a very large margin, not consoles. Attach rates aren't great for AAA titles on PC vs. the 360 in most cases, that's true, but for Blizzard games, there's nothing on console that can even compare to a game like WoW for instance, not even in the same ballpark. Blizzard has a massive following that will have no problem throwing in a 100 dollar GPU if neccessary to play this game anyway, cheaper then running out and buying a console in most cases. Blizzard is like Valve, they don't need consoles, it's a side thought for them, much like the Orange Box was on 360/PS3. D3 is being made for the massive Diablo fanbase that has always played the game via PC. You yourself is actually the perfect target market for this game, as you will most likely be able to play it on your laptop, unless you have a total piece of garbage. Same goes for Starcraft.

How is that bad? 8.3 is not a bad score. Look at the other people that rated it. They rated it 9.8. I wonder if you were being sarcastic.

It got decent ratings from a lot of sites (not as good as the PC version, but still good ratings).

That without a doubt would be awesome and people would buy any peripheral to play it on a console.

I would love to play it on the Ps3 because cheaters ruined D1 and D2 or Xbox 360 I would be intrigued by the achievements.

(Oh yeah I read Chrono Trigger story and Diablo is still better)
