Atlus bringing Persona 4 to North America on December 9
While Japanese audiences will be playing Persona 4 this July, North American gamers won't have to wait long to wander the halls of Gekkoukan High. Atlus USA has taken time away from blowing things up with small explosives this holiday weekend to announce plans to bring Persona 4 to North America on December 9.
Sweetening the deal even further, the publisher also notes that each copy of the game will come bundled with a soundtrack CD featuring "select music" from the title, which represents the sixth in the role-playing series, and the latest to cling tightly to Sony's aging last-gen console. If, however, you're having trouble waiting until this holiday season to get your Persona fix, check out the game's English announcement trailer after the break.

JasonD @ Jul 6th 2008 10:03AM
Persona 2 had two flavors, Eternal Punishment and Innocent Sin.
usagi704 @ Jul 6th 2008 10:10AM

They should really bring these games to the Wii or, preferably, the PSP. Or maybe I should get a PS2. It's a bit Weeaboo, though.

Ugh, stop posting.
Lord Bowser @ Jul 6th 2008 11:19AM
Josh you love me, don't deny it.
Mitch @ Jul 6th 2008 10:21AM
Love this series so much... I'm kinda glad they stayed on the PS2 - as much as I'd love to see P4 with next-gen graphics, they wouldn't be able to concentrate as much on the gameplay, which is one of the things I like so much about this series.

I just beat Persona 3 a few days ago. This means I need to hurry on the Answer portion if I want to be done in time for P4.

Any word on a European release? We only just got the original Persona 3 and have yet to get FES so the outlook is grim.
juju187 @ Jul 6th 2008 11:00AM
it's banned it the EU for being awesome
Deatharea @ Jul 6th 2008 11:35AM
So I have until December to finally beat Persona 3 :P
Jakka @ Jul 6th 2008 12:21PM
A JRPG!? No, thank you very much.
The chicks were kinda hot, though.
DarthDavid @ Jul 6th 2008 12:46PM
It's a good thing that we'll be getting it during the holiday season.....I'm half way done with the Journey, I haven't even started on the Answer...The barely got 12/20 hrs on P3 when FES was announced so I started over....taking forever, but loving it!!!
MexicanRobot @ Jul 6th 2008 1:29PM
Thank god Atlus is bringing it this year, I can't wait.
I still need to finish P3 and buy FES, though

I've heard so many great things about Persona 3 that I'm inclined to try it out, but I have one question: how long is the average playthrough?
Slayer @ Jul 6th 2008 2:28PM
I took me about 80 hours on the first play through. If your into rpgs, you have to try this one out.
Shaq-Fu @ Jul 6th 2008 2:19PM
I don't want to buy a PS2, so I hope Atlus continues to bring games like this to the Wii. I'm probably a little more likely to buy this for the Wii than Dokapon Kingdom, but I'll probably not get the choice and pick up Dokapon.
Jacksons @ Jul 6th 2008 2:41PM
...Nearly 8 years now and I'm still occasionally feeding new games to my trusty PS2.
Mr Khan @ Jul 6th 2008 2:55PM
Oh Atlus, never stop being awesome
Lard @ Jul 6th 2008 8:53PM
Can't wait.
Day one purchase for me.
Why is this game more exciting than all of the "next gen" stuff?
