No OOMPH! mention from you guys? Sad, just sad.

Seriously, you Rammstein fans should listen to them if you can (I highly reccomend their CD "Wahrheit Oder Pflicht"). They're pretty much like Rammstein, but aren't totally like them, and their music kicks ass.

Of course, it's your opinion that counts in the end like always, but give them a chance. You won't regret it.

We must be allowed to customize our rockers to have flaming jackets and giant dildos that spray the crowd if we are to TRULY have the Rammstein experience.

And my vote's for "Tier".

Joystiq, you guys left out a key point of information:
The rumor that Harmonix will allow RB2 owners to download the RB1 songs (the songs on the RB disc) for free.

I mean, if that's true, it's surely better than taking a picture of you with your RB and RB2 discs, sending them to Harmonix, and getting a new RB2 disc with all the songs from both games, isn't it?

I figured that this part of the article was the more interesting of the two, really.

Huh, one would think this would warrant mentioning.

Holy crap! I was just talking about that the other day... do you have source for that rumor, by chance?

Source? It's in the fucking Kotaku article that this one has for a source!!

It's the reason I even mentioned it, considering the fact that Joystiq left this tidbit of information out, even though it's the juiciest (at least for me) part of the post at Kotaku!

Second one seems more legit because of the G4 leak which included "Give it Away" by the Chili Peppers. Oh, and where's my Killers.....most of Sam's Town would be a fun fit for Rock Band.

My feeling was that the second one was more legit too, but more from the perspective that the song selection seems to fit the mold of Harmonix's choices to date.

I agree, needs to be much better. Why "Let There Be Rock" from ACDC?!? Why not "Back in Black"? And also "Evenflow" from Pearl Jam and "Breed" from Nirvana instead of those listed. And "Guns N' Roses - Shackler's Revenge"?!? WTF? Welcome to the Jungle anyone?

@ RavenPaul

While I agree with you, I have to say that having the band in the game to begin with increases the odds of future DLC considerably

Glad to see Metallica, Megadeth and Testament on that list. They could have chosen a harder Testament song, but I'm not gonna complain as long as they're in the game. Rock Band 1 needed more good thrash instead of shit like Disturbed and some modern day generic scream metal band number 8000

Meant to say it needed more good "metal" in general, not neccessarily thrash although I did enjoy playing Thrasher.

Thrasher was fun, but personally, I'd would love to see Slayer's Angel of Death as DLC. Goddamn, that solo would be so fun to play!

Also, Bob Dylan? Sweet.

A lot of overlap, but one list has Metallica and the other has Smashing Pumpkins. The former rumoured to have their own 'Guitar Hero' game and the latter rumoured to feature as digital renders in the next 'Guitar Hero'.

If those rumours are true (which they look to be) then I doubt their songs would be in the competing Rock Band. Right? Or doesn't it work that way?

Just because Aerosmith became exclusive doesn't mean Metallica will do the same because they get a Guitar Hero game.

@Both above:

The Lennon/McCartney-written songs (you know, the good ones) of the Beatles' back catalog (and some Elvis) are owned by Michael Jackson and Sony Music.

I know South Park ruined that song for me. Everytime I hear it now I either picture Randy playing it on real guitar in front of the kids or Randy trying to play it on Guitar Hero and failing miserably.

Judas Priest, Metallica, The D, Megadeth, Mastodon, Offspring, Testament, oh my! Even though it has some flaws, the first list has it all! I think I'll believe it for now until the real list is announced. Hopefully, it'll be the first rather than the second one.

Also, needs more Iron Maiden.
