Just a friendly reminder that today (July 7) is Bungie Day, which means free Bungie-related gamerpics and themes available on Xbox Live today (and only today). Additionally, the new Halo 3 map Cold Storage is also available free of charge for today. As for that announcement that was teased over the weekend, we've heard nothing so far. Trust us, though, if and when Bungie announces something, we'll let you know.

Bungie said it ain't happening.
Even though it really sucks because Griffball aside, all current special events/playlists require DLC.

And Bungie will keep their vast amounts of wealth, too. So I guess everyone's happy(?)

Haven't had a chance to play it yet, but I can't believe it's better than Avalanche. I really don't need any other maps besides that one.

I will definately be downloading this when I get home. Actually blowing the dust off of Halo 3 to play it, maybe a little later :)

Ah, shit, hell of a day to need a new XBL router. Does anyone know if the themes and pics will be available for purchase at least tomorrow?

i miss playing on maps from Halo 2 like Turf, Warlock and Terminal. All of which could be found on the Maptacular Map Pack. Perhaps if MS hadn't decided to fleece the fan base and given us something similar we wouldn't have seen the mass defections to CoD:4, but i digress.
the new map is fine but it's too little, too late. I'm glad Bungie broke ties with MS after Halo 3. it's become painfully obvious as to why they had to.

Actually, Cold Storage will continue to be free. The Bungie Day pics and theme are gone though, or at least supposed to be at this point, and I saw at least one Xbox source suggest that the Legendary map pack price reduction is temporary.
