Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty rated by ESRB
Many moons ago we heard of Ratchet: Quest for Booty due to a leaked PSN list, and now the ESRB has rated a very similarly named title. Although Sony hasn't officially acknowledged the game's existence, Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty is pretty much an open secret now following the software ratings board's listing.
The ESRB rating doesn't explain whether this a retail follow-up to Tools of Destruction or a standalone PSN Ratchet & Clank game. With E3 next week we're not even going to try and pull speculative answers out of Clank's metal heinie; a little bit of patience should result in answers shortly.

How much booty can Rachet actually get in an E-10 rated game? At least he does it the right way and gets her liquored up first
Sora267 @ Jul 7th 2008 11:04PM
And he still has to force her into it, which is why it garnered that "Fantasy Violence" tag.
Jettic @ Jul 8th 2008 4:55PM
Ummm booty meaning gold? =\
pmasterfunk @ Jul 7th 2008 10:47PM
sounds dirty
Sam406 @ Jul 7th 2008 11:13PM
Heh, how long do you think it will take for a bill to get passed against this game for "implied child rape".
Eh @ Jul 7th 2008 11:18PM
Im also on a quest for booty. Small world.
BananaBoat @ Jul 8th 2008 9:58AM
I've been on this quest since the age of 11. Every time I find the booty and plunder it, toad pops out of the woodwork afterward and proclaims that the princess I seek is in another castle. Apparently I've been porking her ugly step sisters for the past 6 or so years.
Jhongerkong @ Jul 7th 2008 11:19PM
Im just glad this isnt M rated

*obligatory sex joke here*
Har-har! I'm talked about teh s3x on teh interwebs!
colin @ Jul 8th 2008 2:19AM
that offends me because some people i know have vaginas.
ComicShaman @ Jul 7th 2008 11:32PM
Hmm. In "Tools of Destruction," Ratchet basically inherits ownership of a pirate fleet after defeating the head pirate. A "Quest for Booty" is a very pirate-like deal. Hope it's a full sequel...
Bucfann @ Jul 7th 2008 11:33PM
All joking aside, but dont you think they shouldve went for a different title if the game is for ages 10 and up?
I mean, seriously, that could be a title of a dumb rap song. It can be easily taken to mean actual BOOTY in this day and age. Not a game I would rush out in get my 10 year old, I dont care how "clean" the game might actually be.
They are asking for trouble. If the wrong person or group notices this, a lot of complaints could be headed their way.
CONFUSEDgam3r @ Jul 7th 2008 11:55PM
Don't you remember "Going Commando," "Up Your Arsenal," and "Size Matters?" I guess not.
Zoesch @ Jul 8th 2008 12:24AM
Buy yourself and your 10 year old a good dictionary because he should be able to identify Booty as "plunder taken from an enemy in time of war and/or goods or property seized by force or piracy"
I'm personally intend to get as much booty as I can on that game, if my gf allows, of course.

The series' rating seems to go up and down for some titles. Most have been rated T, but a couple have been E10+, too. I guess it really depends on the content of each game.
Plus, every game has had a suggestive title (Going Commando, Up Your Arsenal, Size Matters, etc.). I don't think this one game is going to cause any red alarms.
Plus, pirates = booty. So, yay!
arkweld @ Jul 8th 2008 1:32AM
yeah I think this title is inappropriate as well.
I would have much preferred "Quest for Poon."
"Poon" being the name of a new planet obviously.
Maverick Saturn @ Jul 7th 2008 11:36PM
As long as it isn't clank's booty...
Creciente @ Jul 7th 2008 11:46PM
Rachet & Clank series are some of those games you buy a PlayStation for.
samfish @ Jul 8th 2008 1:12AM
No, they're games you buy if you already own a Playstation.
You buy a Playstation for MGS, FF and possibly Team Ico's games.
Chilly Willy @ Jul 8th 2008 1:44AM
I *love* R&C games, Samfish, and someday (read: when my wife allows) plan on getting a PS3 for those games you mentioned, but in all honesty primarily for R&C.
SoCoolCurt (PSN: KillaKornbread) @ Jul 8th 2008 2:43AM
R&CF was worth buying a PS3 for in my eyes. its just one of those few games that i can just play over and over again and not get tired of it (exactly why i wanted trophies for it). kinda like how Crash Bandicoot used to be for me on PS1. plus the fact that anything Insomniac or Naughty Dog touches is golden doesnt hurt either.
Ass Masterson @ Jul 8th 2008 4:12AM
Correction: you buy a PS3 for MGS if you're a loser who actually thinks that long-winded, short-gameplay mess is worthwhile.
And what has Team Ico released, other than Ico, a completely overrated platform/puzzle game; and Shadow of the Colossus which was fun until you did the same thing for the fifth time?
AwesomeTown @ Jul 8th 2008 7:39AM
I am current playing and obsessed with Ratchet and Clank Future. It is the first R&C game I've played, too. It seriously is the most fun I've had playing a video game in a long time. I had no idea what I was missing. Easily good enough to buy a PS3 for. Once I'm done, I'm going to have to head to Gamestop to pick up the ones for PS2.
PojoMofo @ Jul 8th 2008 10:59AM
Ass Masterson, your name is fitting
Charlie_Six @ Jul 7th 2008 11:48PM
A previous Ratchet game was called "Size Matters." Maybe after "Quest for Booty," it'll be "Ratchet and Clank 69!" or "Ratchet and Clank The Missionary Position"
Of course, considering that both Ratchet and Clank are male.. maybe all these sex jokes will imply a homosexual relationship between the two..
BPM [MKWii: 2578 3585 8392] @ Jul 8th 2008 3:48AM
"Ratchet & Clank: Missionary Position"
Join Ratchet and Clank as they try to help spread the world of Christ to third-world countries!
BPM [MKWii: 2578 3585 8392] @ Jul 8th 2008 3:48AM
Oh, and one more thing:
Rated "E" for "Everyone"
yumz @ Jul 8th 2008 12:31AM
I just hope they continue to make the exact same game over and over except with better graphics and weapon skins. Insomniac should just start developing Pokemon games.
John McPoop (PSN:johnnynumber5) @ Jul 8th 2008 12:40AM
The majority of games in the series have a sort of pseudo sexual innuendo within the title. Nothing new to see here. I would love a full fledged sequel that was a retail version especially if it was as good as the last game. However, I suspect that it will be either downloadable content or a full fledged PSN game because the ESRB is slapping a rating on a game no one in the public has seen a peek about. Its damn near impossible to keep a game with a scope the size of ratchet and clank under that tight if wraps if it were a full retail release. I suspect downloadable content or a PSN game.
Vidikron (FU) @ Jul 8th 2008 1:12AM
Plus we're talking less than a year since the last one and they are also working on Resistance 2. I'd say there's almost no chance this is anything other than DLC or a PSN game.
I'll buy it whatever it is though.
ScottG13 @ Jul 8th 2008 8:40AM
I would like MORE R&C in my life. One of the best titles on PS3 still.
