Online mega retailer Amazon.com has listed a standalone wireless drum set and wireless guitar for Rock Band 2 on Xbox 360 for $90 and $70, respectively. Of course, the bundled Xbox 360 guitar with the original Rock Band was tethered to the console and the drums were wired on all platforms, so we're hopeful this means the instruments included in Rock Band 2's big bundle will all be wireless. A Harmonix representative informs us that no prices, shipping dates, colors, astrological signs, or further details concerning Rock Band 2 will be released until next week's E3.

I don't really care about wireless anything, as long as the setlist kicks ass.

I don't really see the need for a wireless drum...
I mean, you're just sitting there...

I impersonally would like a wireless drum kit. Though the cord of the current set is pretty accommodating it does get tripped over, it does get in the way, and sometimes under certain circumstances (a party for example), it can be a pain to maneuver around.
Of course since I already paid out my ass for the first one, I'm not exactly eager to buy this new kit.
I will be, for the record, buying the disc day one.

i honestly don't give a flying toss-pot about rockband 2 or wireless instruments because i don't have the opportunity to buy rockband 1, the reason being i am a British ps3 owner, even if i did have the chance to purchase rockband it would be at twice the price of the American version. /rant

Yeah, like using the term "toss-pot" didn't already give that one away.

I found Rock Band 2 Special Edition on Amazon.com and it says its for PS2/ PS3 and its $199. Looks like Rock Band 2 is just as much as GHIV, I mean GHWT. Unless RB2 drums are ultra superior to RB1's, Ill just buy the standalone game.

I'll buy it if the Drums and or Guitar and or Mic is Bluetooth so I don't have to have a fucking dongle hanging out of my ps3. I don't care if 360 doesnt have bluetooth (I really don't know if it does or not) make it for the PS3. No reason people should be screwed because one system lacks a feature.

Anyone else here think that the 2 doesn't really fit?
On the long logo, it looks alright, but on the condensed two line Rick Band logo, it just seems too small. Maybe they should have made it bigger?

Hopefully the RB2 guitars will work better than the original Rock Band ones. I've purchased and exchanged mine seven times and not a single one had a working tilt sensor.

Cool now I can play drums while running around my room! Wohooo!
Ok now, seriously who need a wireless drum kit? I don't that means more batteries, which in turn mean more replacement batteries, which in time will mean I will have a pile of rechargables that dont hold their charge sitting in the drawer!

I've reached the maximum plastic instrument quota about a year ago. Sorry guys, wireless or no, I can't afford to have any more plastic instruments.

Hopefully the next game's instruments will be wireless only. That way, Harmonix could also save some money and just put PS3 and 360 radios into all the instruments, so they'll work with both platforms. That should save them some manufacturing costs, for sure.

That'd be pretty sweet.
A wireless microphone would be ESPECIALLY awesome.
I play weekly at a bar, and everyone's pretty good about not walking in front of the band, but somebody always doesn't pay attention and nearly trips over the microphone or drum cord.
