Talk about your emotional roller coasters. We spoke just yesterday of our attempts to bring Pogs back into the public consciousness, so a brief glance at this week's WiiWare title, SPOGS Racing (1-2 players, 1,000 Wii Points), filled our hearts with glee. But just as we made bids on every eBay Pogs lot we could find we re-read the title and started praying that someone out there was willing to pay more than $23.50 for an Alf Slammer.
So, apparently, SPOGS have nothing to do with Pogs, except in the fact that they're both disc shaped and that you likely have a minimum of interest in them. So ... moving on.

Is the Alf Slammer covered with authentic cat hair? If so, sold!

I use to have an OJ Simpson slammer.
I remember I convinced this girl in school that pogs were actually little hamster like rodents and you used the heavy metal slammers to knock them unconcious and score points.
That was sweet. She thought we were so mean.

I found this retarded when I first heard about it, and I still do. I mean, what the fuck? Just put any random object inside a fucking wheel and call it "[random object] racing"? What's next, postage stamp racing? They should have just made it wheels without anything in them and it would've instantly looked about a hundred times better.
Holy shit this is so retarded.

The texture work is terrible. Some look pretty decent, then right next to it is an ugly, stretched out muddy one. Picture 2/7 is a perfect example of this. Maybe the game moves so fast that everything looks like a blur, but the screens looks like shit.

"Spogs Racing slams into WiiWare" the headline says - and the picture looks like complete and utter crap!
Not that I'm neccessarily a total graphics whore, but upon seeing that screenshot, all I can think of is, "DAYM!"

Game isn't so bad, looks ok in action, better than the screens. I dont get the "spogs", but trying to blow up anything is fun and the racing is good.
