This Wednesday: Schizoid and Golf: Tee It Up! tee off on XBLA
We've been covering Schizoid, the first home-grown XNA game to hit XBLA, since this time last year. Now it's finally blasting bumping its way onto the Marketplace, unique gameplay mechanic in tow. Priced at 800 MS points ($10), the game is entirely co-op centric, tasking players with ramming their ship (or ships, should they feel up to the dual-ship-controlling "Überschizoid" mode's challenge) into enemies of the same color. Play with another Live user or let the CPU control ship two.
Super Stardust HD developer Housemarque brings Golf: Tee It Up! to XBLA ... and an incredible likeness to Sony's Hot Shots Golf franchise to mind. Endless rounds of this golf game for beginners and seasoned vets alike (dare we say it's "golf for everyone"?) will set you back 800 MS points ($10).

That is not what you want to see when you get your urology test results back.
erico316 @ Jul 7th 2008 3:08PM
omfg its a flow rip off.
Marty @ Jul 7th 2008 3:10PM
Even if it were, would a fl0w rip-off really warrant the use of 'OMG?'
NATO_Duke @ Jul 7th 2008 3:20PM
Yeah looks like an angry version of Flow.
I zoned out to Flow a few times this week. Its like a drug.
Dirty @ Jul 7th 2008 3:31PM
Looks a lot faster paced than flow. Flow was more of an art piece than a game. This does look like it borrowed from quite a few games (including flow, geometry wars, ikaruga)
arrrgh @ Jul 7th 2008 3:37PM
looks like flow done right, perhaps
Joe Smith @ Jul 7th 2008 3:29PM
Cool. I love big-head golf games.
And I have seen Schizoid -- it is nothing like FLOW.
Organic_Shadow @ Jul 7th 2008 3:35PM
So wait, this isn't another interactive screensaver? OOHHH those are only on PS3 huh?
arrrgh @ Jul 7th 2008 3:38PM

first of all u guys love to point out the flaws of the ps3 but why dont u point out the one for 360.paying for gamerpic and theme, online and so many more things.if u going to attack the ps3 look at ur system and see your had bigger flaw from the 3.i own all 3 so i wouldnt dare u call me a fanboy.

@erico316,
First thing's first; you might want to think about applying yourself in school a bit more. A solid understanding of grammar and spelling can only help you later on in life. ;)
Now, as for having to pay for gamerpic/themes? Sure, some of them. Some are free too. Games come with them sometimes (gamerpics that is) and of course if you have the camera, you can make whatever you please into a pic. Of course you can also use any jpg you'd like as a background, thus negating the need for purchased themes really... but you already knew this since you own all three systems, right? As for the cost of live... the quality of Sony/Nintendo's online offerings has more than justified the cost of live.
I don't think anyone was picking on the PS3 either... more your ignorant comment that Schizoid is a flOw ripoff... have you seen a single video of Schizoid in action? The two games aren't similar.
NATO_Duke @ Jul 7th 2008 5:28PM
"if u going to attack the ps3 look at ur system and see your had bigger flaw from the 3."
Let me try to adress what I think you are saying.
I and most everyone else here don't have our own system. We have the systems sold by Sony, Nintendo and MS. So, when we have all of those systems, how are we supposed to look at our system having the bigger flaw? In part, you are a fanboy because you support only one and blow off what is done by the other systems in defense of that choice.
arrrgh @ Jul 7th 2008 3:42PM
just checked out the videos, man this schizoid game looks sick!!!!
and is that a second player i see?!?!
Scott @ Jul 7th 2008 3:50PM
Yes, Schizoid is designed as a co-op game. It is pretty much required that either another person or the CPU helps get you through.
So, it is nothing like Flow.
Courtney @ Jul 7th 2008 4:37PM
I'm curious about Schizoid, will definitely grab the demo to try out with my wife. We're always looking for fun co-op stuff.

I'd been contemplating buying Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds ($46 used), but if Golf: Tee It Up! is the same experience for $10 then I'll just get that instead. Then I can put the money I saved toward HSG:Open Tee 2 for PSP ($19 used).
