Atlus lovers, head to Amazon

I can't read Japanese.

I should really try to learn Japanese. I'd have access to a lot more games. I wonder if a university offers a "Japanese for Gamers" course......

Amazon's usually like that. Shipping only to places within its domain name, that is: I've tortured myself many a time by going to Amazon.jp and seeing the stuff they have that I can't get.

I didn't say it was logical or sensible, just that there's precedent for Amazon to have region-specific websites for whatever reason.

I believe the reason they can't ship games to Canada is because (for the most part) they're English only, and Canadian games need to be billingual English/French.

So, in other words... blame Quebec.

I do not believe this is true, as I have bought many games with packaging in English only.

I do, oddly enough, have a copy of Star Ocean: Till The End of Time with the packaging and discs completely in French, but the game is still in English. Which is weirder still.

However, while the packages of games do tend to be in both English and French, and the manuals as well, games are still in English. Which also makes no sense. Playing the games requires that you speak English, so why bother printing the manuals and packaging in both languages?

Can anyone in Quebec enlighten me as to how easy it is to get games in French? Or do you have to import them? (And to my American friends - don't be fooled, we don't all speak two languages up here. There are French communities and there are English communities. Where I live [Alberta] there are actually large numbers of Polish and Ukrainian speakers, more so than French, I believe. BC has a lot more Chinese speakers, as well. Canada is a rich tapestry of confusion and mistrust.)

*Everyone* should check out Contact! The combat system is a little weird (I think it's meant to be a parody of MMO combat), but the game is wonderful, charming, and fun. And it has one of the best endings of any game ever.
