Midway to pass Blitz: The League II downfield this fall
Confirming an earlier report, Midway has announced plans to return to the line of scrimmage this fall with its everything-but-the-license take on American football in Blitz: The League II for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. While details remain scant, the company notes that the game's story mode will be penned by ESPN Playmakers writer Peter Egan, while former New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor will also lend his chemically-enhanced likeness to the title as well.
Even so, with Electronic Arts' seminal Madden franchise slated to take to the field and bankroll retail shelves this August, how exactly Midway plans to sack EA's tough actin' fat man still remains unclear.

i got the first one on ps2 for cheap awhile back and had fun. i even made it halfway through a season. wich is amazing for me since the last time i even tried to play a season was on the first gameday around the playstation launch.

OK, so it's an American Football game, colour me unimpressed.
However it's nice to see a game take an unorthadox spin on sports games with a story. And anyone who takes on EA's got my vote.

God I love this game, wish they would hurry up and release it!

Ug, the first Blitz: The League was so broken. Midway, you may have lost the license, but just give us a good arcade football sim again. Go back and look at what worked in the original NFL Blitz and give us that.

I hope they did something about the load times. Blitz is a party favorite for my pals and me.

I hope they fix the online this time. It seemed almost impossible to get a match going on the 360 version.

Pro Football with story elements. As an English major I am ready for round 2.
As a student, I want Blitz: The Association, a story following the NCAA.
