When 2K released this morning that they had bagged the publishing rights to Champions Online, Cryptic's other superhero-based MMO, we almost wrote it off as another pre-E3 grab for coverage. But then, as we combed the release, we noticed a couple of odd things. First, though they're bringing the game to the PC and 360 in the spring of next year, there's no mention of a PS3 version, which isn't so much weird as it is sad.
Also, and this is the really odd bit, the end of the release says "Champions Online for Xbox 360 is not yet concept approved by Microsoft." We have to say, we don't really get the hold-up. A superhero MMO on the 360? Yes. Rubber-stamped. Done. You see that Microsoft? That ish just got concept approved by Joystiq. That. Just. Happened.

Old news about PC/360/no PS3!
I'm surprised you didn't mention that they intend to have ONLINE CROSSPLATFORM PLAY between the PC and 360.

Well, you can find my action figure at The Pleasure Chest. Well, it's only one part of my anatomy, but it's action packed!

Isn't that the smallest part of the figure?

If you want to hear the ish in its native environment, simply purchase a censored rap album from the late 90's. Funny stuff; still makes me chuckle to this day. At least you spotted that ish before it got away.

Not that I would argue this point, but many would argue that the Final Fantasy MMO is pretty solid.

@Inect
1000 twelve year olds would not make for an ideal game! Hopefully you would be able to customize the voice chat to include only party members or those players within a certain distance of your location.
@K387
I have never given it a shot because I don't believe it has voice chat. It seems that trying to communicate on the 360 w/o voice chat would just ruin any game. If I am wrong about that I would love to give it a try.

Agreed...much more scalable and it's easier to produce/receive new content.
