While we generally operate on the principle that all rumors about Microsoft are true, we still get a thrill when we start to dig up real proof. What could be more thrilling than proof? How about a whole gallery of it? Our compatriots over at Joystiq have assembled just such a gallery, a veritable mosaic of "$299," the supposed new price of the Xbox 360 Pro system. Check out the images and believe.

I've been dropping articles like this in a (360-less) friend's email inbox for the last week or so...
Y'know, just a little friendly peer pressure :-)

I wouldn't inflict a 360 on my worst enemy, not at least until Microsoft FULLY fix the 360's RROD and disc scratching issues.

Just do what I do and get a bridge, cheaper than Microsoft's wireless attachment.

Microsoft isn't about to start integrating WiFi. Not when they can charge a billion dollars for their adapters (well, $99 but whatever).
Then again, don't blame me if you bite the bullet and find out I'm wrong :)

DJCueball,
None of the 360 skus have ever included buit-in wireless so odds are, the 60GB will follow suit. But, according to the rumor, the 60GB will debut at the current $349 and not be sold for $299, at least for a while.

Thank you for the responses. I guess I can go get the 360 at $350 now and then price match it on Sunday. Question to Van... how can I set up a Bridge? I have a wireless DSL router/modem and currently use my PS3 with the wireless connection. Will that interfere?
