Step right this way 360 owners, past the bearded woman, under the tent flap and into "Bizarro World!" In this world, 360 versions of things are always delayed, while PS3 players get to enjoy them first. Look, over there! That's a PS3 owner enjoying the new Burnout Paradise update "Cagney" today, and you've got to wait for it! And not just a few days like we originally thought! No, Criterion's now saying you're going to be waiting until at least July 24! The terror!
And look, over there, it's ... actually, that's the only exhibit we've got, sorry folks. Drive safely don't forget that your ticket stubs are good for 50 percent off at Pizza In a Cup.
[Thanks, SharpShooter]

This is in clear violation of PS3's patent on being last. It's your ass XBOX! Your attorneys should expect to be notified.

Click on the link that says 'we originally thought.' Originally, the delay was only 4 days, until the 14th. Now its a full two weeks difference.

I can't wait to play tonight. Got to get my gaming friends back on too, as almost all the new content is multiplayer.

You know that the reason the update's been delayed was because Microsoft Testing is more stringent that Sony's QT, right? They caught bugs that've gone right through Sony QT.

I think it all depends on how you design the code. The unfortunate part is that the two consoles seem to prefer significantly different coding practices, which makes equivalent cross console support difficult.
From what I've heard, this game is a good example of how well both consoles can support the same game, however. I'm guessing the delay has much less to do with the facility of their programmers with the 360 or the power of the 360 and just a lack of manpower applied to the patch. My guess is that QA is the bottleneck and could only test one at a time... PS3 happened to be first in line, so it was the 360 that was delayed. Just a guess, of course, but I've seen it often enough.

lead by example -
That sucks, 360 guys. A huge, free update to an already popular game getting delayed... well, as my girlfriend always says - it happens to everyone once in a while. ;) Probably just some last minute bugs holding things up... annoying, but what can you do? A 2 week delay isn't the end of the world, believe me, we PS3 guys can relate :)

You think that joystiq would be nice enough to point out that the delay is because microsoft found bugs during the cert process. I'm not sure how sony's testing compares to that of Microsoft, but I can tell you that Microsoft is most likely on top with testing games and reporting bugs to developers. I'd rather have a bug free patch than something like the 2.4 firmware update.

I thought the delay was because Burnout Paradise was developed for the PS3, and PORTED to the 360? I mean, unless they were being dishonest about the PS3 version being the lead SKU?
I think this is one of those rare multiplatform games that is actually much better on the PS3. This, and UT3, that's all I can think of.

You seem to assume these bugs were present in the PS3 version too. I assure you that assuming stuff like that is a good way to just look foolish.
I think perhaps it's most likely you're a fanboy who doesn't even know what happened and you're making up the most favorable scenario for your viewpoint.
Both companies have let through some bad code in the past, let's not throw stones here.
