sorry, i am all for retro, i used to play my megadrive (genesis, i'm English) all the time, but i don't quite understand why they have made a brand new game with old school sound (not really bothered about the graphics, but the music in that trailer caused me to hit the mute button on my laptop)

Forgot to mention, the only reason i don't still play my megadrive is that it broke.

I realllllllly wish they didn't go the 8bit route. In the video it showed how megaman was advancing from 7-8 then he just went back down in 9. I'm not really a nastalgic megaman player besides number 8, but i'll deff give this a try, because well...megaman rocks! :D

People want this? Seriously? It looks like ass.
I'd rather have one of the GBA Megaman games.

Good. I was willing to get it on the Wii, but now that I can get Achievements in an Xbox Live version, I'm going for the 360 version.

Good point, but don't forget to include d-pads in your decision. :)

I like the fact that it is 8bit. Megaman was the first game I playd and is why I am still a gamer today. I will always be a Megaman fan except the new stuff Capcom has put out for Megaman. This looks very awesome though and I bet most of you are passing on it because of graphics.

It would be, and them rehashing an old game to make a quick buck is gut wrenching. They could have put some effort into making the game a bit deeper and more visually appealing. You know something to make the consumer think they actually put some effort behind the title. I'm not asking for some crazy shitty 3d adventure game, just a classic 2d side scroller with a few new gameplay elements and a pretty hand drawn background and characters.

It woulda been beautiful. And we might still get it. In that respect, I figure this is a good test of the waters. If this does good, multiplying the budget towards something to Nintendo DS / NeoGeo levels of details and animation might be a risk that's worth it, for them.
Megaman Zero/ZX games still demand full price on DS, I wonder if download customers would be willing to pay the same price for games like that?
But for me, heck, I'm just glad to see a quality, newly created, pixel art style game FINALLY hitting Live! Now if we could just get a new Guardian Heroes... (please, Treasure?)

If they did something like the new Wario it would be still awesome but the thing is that this is supposed to be a game for services like Wiiware,PStore and XLive Arcade so the 8bit graphics are cool and 10$ isn't much.
Also if they did that they would rather do a full Megaman game for the NDS or PSP and charge 40$ for it instead of 10$.
"edited out unnecessary stuff"

It isnt a rehash it is made by the ORGINAL creator of Megaman and he wanted it to take this art approch and they arent really using that much sprites from the Old games so its not rehased at all it how they want it to be

I love megaman and all but seriously.... I could understand getting the xbox originals but this?
I cant see myself really paying $10 to play this.... On the sidekick or a phone for around $5 yea, but $10 for a console when there are better yet older games out there..???

Is 8-bit goodness without the hardware limitation of the 1980 era, what's not to love? They can make the game twice as big as Megaman 3 if they wanted to.
10$ is a good price.

I always wanted to play an NES port on my 360. Oh, wait, that's not a port?

8/16 Bit Era games were some of the best games in gaming History, although I wish they went with 16bit inspired graphics instead of 8. Would be nice to see some more 2D stuff on every major Systems download service, looks like WiiWare will be fulfilling that

I absolutely adore the old NES Mega Man games, but this project just seems like an absolutely lazy cash-in game to me. I can't figure out why people are excited about it.
Especially when you consider that Mega Man 7 on the SNES had beautiful graphics, brilliant music, and superior gameplay.. this is just a huge step backwards and the style seems to be determined entirely by the lack of a real development budget.

Yea, this is total fan service and it is much appreciated. I love the old school look and feel and especially the music!
I'm glad it sounds like classic vintage Mega Man tracks that I'm sure the Minibosses will add to their catalog sooner rather than Later.
Go Mega Man!
P.S. Seriously since some of us started playing Mega Man when we were 8 and saved up for years to plunk down $50 to play MM2, ten bucks now that I have a career is nothing for this.
