Still feels the same, actually. Not interested in shelling out the $$$ that this would cost.

Yeah its nice but the regular one is in the RB2 special edition. this drum kit is going to be very expensive guys like around 150$ by its self. so if you have money buy the drum kits with all the bells and whistles other wise I would stick to the regular rb2 drums ( I wish I had the money for the really nice ION drum kit)

Has the entire world gone insane? the amount of time Rockband and Guitar Hero players spend playing these games, they could have MASTERED the real instruments, written a collection of songs, and signed a record deal worth millions...

Can the annoying GH4 douchebags shut up now? Go spank it to the crappy music creator you're going to have (that will only be put to proper use by maybe a dozen players) and leave people who are excited for the superior music game alone.

I got a 6 piece ION drum kit off eBay for $170. Still haven't opened it. Might not bother now.

I used to be a drum salesman and (along with a bunch of decent electronic drum kits), I sold Ion kits.

As a drummer, I can tell you that they are absolute GARBAGE. This RB2 kit is identical to the one I sold (which went for around $250). I can tell you for sure, that the drum pads are terrible - no bounce, noisy, uncomfortable. The sound module on the Ion kits I sold were awful as well. The sounds barely resemble drums and the communication between the module and pads barely allows for a slow drum roll.

These are things that someone who is not familiar with drums would not realize. These kits were designed with only price-points in mind - they are meant for parents who didn't want to spend a lot on an instrument that they felt their kid would give up playing. The bonus for the parents was that they did not have to hear their kids try to learn the drums. Of course, given the density of the pads, that was far from the case. These things are hard plastic and positioned as such that the sound carries when you strike them.

Anyone expecting to learn how to drum from playing this kit is going to be gravely disappointed. The only thing this kit might help you learn is how to play Guitar Hero's and Rock Band's "interpretation" of drums.

I'd like it if I could get it to work with my Roland set. Seems like it should work if you can get the ion set to work.

hooray, automatic lag calibration via a microphone in the guitar. I was waiting for them to do this. Stereo systems have been doing this for years.

That link has a preorder listing for $300. $200 seemed like it would be reasonable, but $300 is just right out.
