Gamekyo: Jade Raymond working on surival game 'I Am Alive'
We kind of assumed that after the sales success of Assassin's Creed, Ubisoft would tie Jade Raymond to the property and flog them both until one gave out. But apparently, the company thinks the Jade Raymond Media Bump would be better applied to a new IP: Gamekyo's reporting this morning that she's moved on to I Am Alive, a survival game that's set in a Chicago just rocked by an earthquake. It seems though that she'll be making the leap in the final act of the game's development: Darkworks of Cold Fear fame has been working on the game, allegedly slated for spring 2009, for three years. We're supposed to hear some more about it at E3, so here's hoping that Jade presents the game and we get to experience that rarest of phenomenons, a mass nerd swoon, firsthand.

She's gorgeous!
baby sea tuna @ Jul 10th 2008 10:38AM
Yeah, but Cold Fear...not so much. I'm hesitant on this one.
Marty @ Jul 10th 2008 11:26AM
And thus, that is the only reason why there's a feature here about her.
Marty @ Jul 10th 2008 11:33AM
Oh yeah - let's not forget about Stevie Case, of Ion Storm fame. She even did a shoot for Playboy! http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22Stevie+Case%22&btnG=Search
Mike @ Jul 10th 2008 10:38AM
Not thanks! I've seen and played the kind of games she works on.
"Thanks for the offer but I'll have to pass."

A-SPLODE!!1one!
Paul P. @ Jul 10th 2008 10:39AM
So they are moving her onto this pretty mcuh already complete game just for the publicity of having their pretty girl that nerds like name and face promoting it.
That is insulting to our intelligence and also insulting to women and especially the talented Raymond, who is not just some PR babe.
tmacairjordan87 @ Jul 10th 2008 10:52AM
Welcome to the world of business and marketing. Hope you enjoy your stay!
ROFFLES @ Jul 10th 2008 10:53AM
Uhhhh....I thought she was pretty much that. Just another PR babe. Kind of like an upgrade over being a model at E3.
Korova *of the highlands* @ Jul 10th 2008 12:14PM
Yeah, it cant be read as anything but a stunt. She is a model with the company's business card.
That's degrading to her and to the people who actually produced the game.
UNLESS, the game was going horribly, the original producer was fired and she had to step in to pick up the pieced and finish the game. Then she is a hero AND pretty. And that is pretty cool.
We need more spin. Ubi? Jade? Anyone?
Paul P. @ Jul 10th 2008 12:23PM
It could very well be that thing you said as well Korova. It's unfortunate that thanks to the mindest of people in this industry we'll never really know if it was.
crsh @ Jul 10th 2008 12:51PM
They more or less did the same with Assasin's Creed; the difference is she was there from the beginning, but they "used" her to promote the game - when is the last time you even heard the name of a game producer out of the business circles?
Smart & good-looking female working on a game.. more like "Hey guys, she's gorgeous, let's put her EVERYWHERE! Teenage boys will love this!".
Sad thing is, it works all too well.
Peter Smith @ Jul 10th 2008 3:13PM
"when is the last time you even heard the name of a game producer out of the business circles? "
Will Wright, CliffyB, Greg Lopiccolo (spelling?), Ken Levine, Richard Gariot, Peter Molyneaux... the list goes on and on...
crsh @ Jul 10th 2008 4:03PM
These are not producers, they are creators. Jade Raymond is not one of them.
capt_carl @ Jul 10th 2008 10:40AM
*insert remark about Jade's appearance*
Haggard @ Jul 10th 2008 10:40AM
Holy crap, she's one of the other 50% of the population!

54%, there are more women than men.
mr mobius @ Jul 10th 2008 10:53AM

The talk about flogging her has tarnished my mind. Thank you 'Stiq.

Like we don't see Cliff's face every freak'n other day. Is that sex appeal that sells Gears?
xFenixKnightx @ Jul 10th 2008 11:01AM
I want Assassins Creed 2 >:( This time with a proper ending! Please?
I guess I'll comment on her looks too. IMO shes average.
Nate @ Jul 10th 2008 11:16AM
Where do you live where that's average? I'm moving :)
xGeneral DEATHx @ Jul 10th 2008 11:54AM
My question exactly...I know the old saying "different strokes for different folks" applies in all things, but maybe I just don't live where all the smart/beautiful women do. Need a room mate, Nate?
xFenixKnightx @ Jul 10th 2008 11:56AM
She's pretty no doubt, just not "HAWT as fuck" as I've read previously.
xGeneral DEATHx @ Jul 10th 2008 11:59AM
Okay Fenix...I'll give you that one. Not the hottest you've ever seen, but you've got to admit her as one of the hottest working in the video game industry.
mr mobius @ Jul 10th 2008 12:06PM
Veronica Belmont and her would make an amazing night of multiplayer gaming.
heh @ Jul 10th 2008 1:31PM
I see wimin of this caliber every day here in Cali. I agree with fenix, "average".
Paul P. @ Jul 10th 2008 11:03AM
Everytime there's a Cliffy B game do you feel the need to insert how hot Cliffy B is in your article? Even as "satire". It would be equally true and equally demeaning.
acefondu @ Jul 10th 2008 11:14AM
But...Cliffy looks like a foot compared to her. And there's truth to the phrase, 'the fairer sex.' Does that demean the female gender? No, that quite clearly demeans the male gender, lol.
Levi @ Jul 10th 2008 12:02PM
I have read many articles about Cliff Blezinski where I get the impression that the writer honestly wants to have sex with him.

Please sir, can I have some money? You dirty thief, I'll have your hand for that! What a fool! But I am poor and my family is sick. I'll teach you not to steal! Just a few coins, I just need a few coins. Assassin! You dirty thief, I'll have your hand for that! Please sir, I beg of you! But I am poor and my family is sick. I'll teach you not to steal! What a fool! Assassin! Please sir, can I have some money? You dirty thief, I'll have your hand for that! Assassin! Just a few coins, I just need a few coins. (repeat 9 BILLION times)
Hardcore @ Jul 10th 2008 11:12AM
She's there for advertising purposes, no matter what if the game sucks, Ubisoft knows very well that sex sells.
Marty @ Jul 10th 2008 11:35AM
I don't entirely disagree with you, but she did supposedly design Assassin's Creed too, you know.
Mr.ESC @ Jul 10th 2008 11:52AM
To be honest I'm not sure what Jade did exactly, since She is the producer I guess she gave the whole concept wings but sadly everything the whole AC Team did was just a really cute Tech Demo with a story that ended in the worst cliffhanger ever and with the idea of making sequels as if the story was so genius people would pay more to see what happens to our cardboard hero Desmond.
Seriously even Halo had the decency of pulling that crap on the sequel.
Hardcore @ Jul 10th 2008 12:29PM
@ Marty:
I am not trying to say she is not good, Assasin Creed was certainly good, but I am afraid she is just there doing nothing, but to speak for the DarkWorks game.
I am not implying the game will turn bad, but you know it ;ll be definitely sucks if companies do that for and the titles turn out terrible. Which why I am skeptical of using sex appeal for games
@ Mr ESC
The game still good despite its flaws, and proves she is a capable producer
DangerMouse @ Jul 10th 2008 11:17AM
I thought i paid for video games.
Squid @ Jul 10th 2008 11:19AM
I don't see why this is being reported - there's nothing newsworthy here aside from Jade's obvious status as an attractive woman in the gaming industry, which is a really pathetic reason to give something this much attention.
She didn't make Assassin's Creed, she "produced" it, so her presence as a "brand name" is meaningless. She's a glorified booth babe.
If she had her named tied to some garbage like Shrek-N-Roll, would we still have to hear about the game ad nauseum in the gaming press, just so news sites can grab a few more adsense bucks by posting a pretty face?
Joke all you want about nerds swooning. You're still giving Ubisoft undue press coverage solely for the appeal of an attractive female, and that's pretty pathetic.
I DeX I @ Jul 10th 2008 11:41AM
Glorified Booth Babe. Well, sir, what is your level of edumacation. Look at her Wiki profile before you comment.
LaughingTarget @ Jul 10th 2008 12:54PM
A Playboy centerfold could have a PhD in particle physics but it doesn't change the fact she's nude in a magazine meant to masturbate to. Producers never get the press coverage that Ms. Raymond is getting and she is being utilized as sex appeal. Credentials, education and ability aren't being advertised here, a pretty face is.
Mr.ESC @ Jul 10th 2008 11:37AM
I'm between my love for Horror and/or Survival games, my love for gorgeous and smart women and my total hate and despise towards Assassin’s creed.
