Confirmed for the others until next week when it will again be wiiware only.

Doesn't matter because if it's $10 on the other systems as well I'm not even going to consider getting it. That's almost robbery.

A sequel to one of the most legendary franchises in gaming? Developed by the same team as the two excellent DS MM games? Awesome music?

Pfft... you'd have to pay me to play something that stupid. For only six times as much, I could any of hundreds of games half as good!

Yeah $10 is too much for a game that could run on a system that has been dead for nearly 20 years. If you want to waste money on nostalgia then go for it, but don't call me poor because I refuse to take the bait and get ripped off.

Great! So just like every other posted column regarding Megaman 9 you've stated the same opinion you have of Capcom's choice for this game. So why do you keep posting with each new column about this game if you don't care and aren't going to buy it? Oh yeah, that's right, for the attention. So in addtion to being a graphics whore, and a cheapskate, we can now add to that, an attention whore as well. Sorry you don't know how to have fun anymore and everything has to be so got dam serious with you. Oh the drama queen that is tmacairjordan87.

...I could go on all day with games that will be better than this.

They absolutely should have made the audio/visual presentation of MM9 something much more befitting of this generation's hardware. If I want to play a Mega Man game with a NES presentation I already own the first 6 and can simply play those.

Many games actually. I think this holds a lot of appeal to fans of the Mega Man series, but for most people it's just a new $10 game that looks like it's 25 years old. And, no, Mega Man is not before my time... I was just never a fan of the series. But for the Mega Man fans out there... enjoy! (seriously)

This is...retarded. Trying to cash in on nostalgia.

Here, I'm going to make a new Mario game for Wii, oh but it's graphics will suck. But I'm just trying to be 'retro', yeah thats it, it's N64 style graphics! Remember that? Awesome huh?

NES megaman graphics were great for it's time. And the only reason they would still be considered 'great', is only because of our fond memories of it.

If this starts a new trend, i quit.

Bocephus 90 is right this retro thing is just a fucking excuse to produce a cheap & crappy game while getting a few bucks for it.

Everyone is right...graphics do NOT make a game, and people fail to realize that. So far, with few exceptions, games have gotten easier, and have much weaker gameplay. It's really sad.

You should already quit gaming, as you fail to see the point.

Gameplay ISNT difficulty genious-face.

I can make a game in flash that would be nearly impossible to beat, does that mean it has AMAZING gameplay? NO

Graphics DO not make a game. Just as gameplay DOES NOT make a game. It's both ingredients perfected that make a great game.

Idiot, I abstracted the too, I said they are easier AND have weaker gameplay.

Graphics don't necessarily make a game fun. Take Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Pretty sure they would be just as fun 2D.

I don't get how gameplay doesn't make the game (literally, just look at the word). Even if you were to say that a game's quality hinges on the combination of visuals and gameplay, you'd still be placing any well-playing game of the current generation as strictly superior a well-playing game of last.

To say that graphics are a necessary element in the greatness of a game is denying... well, pretty much every great game ever. Unless you're sticking with the whole "a game has to look good for its time" argument, which is really just saying that you judge a game by the effort the developers put into it, which is simply absurd.

I still think the best platformer of all time is Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and that only uses 256 colors. So OBVIOUSLY, compared to Sonic Unleashed and its superior its total shit.

Wait, what the fuck? I can't even look at that and imagine it makes sense. How the hell do you guys do it?

Greetings, all corporate apologists! News flash: the main point of ire probably isn't whether it'll be a good game or not. The bottom line is that you're paying $10 US for a hacked NES rom. There is no justifying such outrageous price-gouging tactics. I fail to see how the discussion suddenly moved to it's being "fun" or not. You can find a version of Mega Man 3 where all the sprites are smoking doobies. And yes, Top Man is now "Pot Man."

No. Its not. I'm paying 10 bucks for 8 new goddamn levels that they just made. This is like complaining about the Bionic Comamando remake because its just a NES game with 3d models. Except since BCR is 3d its all of a sudden off the hook because somehow making 3d graphics takes more effort than making 8 stages from scratch.

but i have to admit, all the mega man excitement had me go back to the old games, and after playing wily wars/mega world (the remakes of the first 3 for the genesis), 7, and 8... and then seeing more trailers for warioland shake.. i wish they didnt go 8 bit.

No one will deny that a good game needs good gameplay, just as no one deny that a good game also needs good graphics.

Let's pretend the Zelda franchise never exsisted. And let's say Nintendo released it in 2009. Same graphics, same gameplay. Now, while Zelda is a terrific game, would anyone really take it seriously now days against current-gen material? Of course not. It may build a small following of retro-tards, but it would be largely ignored.

Visual art is very important. Mega-Man 9 is an lazy crap clone, by a cheap lazy company trying to make a quick buck.

F U Capcom, and F U Charles Osgood.

Your comparison makes no sense. It WOULD make sense if you keep the fact that Zelda is an established franchise, then in 2009 they came out with another Zelda game with the same graphics as the first NES game.

Which, by the by, sounds fuckin' AWESOME anyway.

Your point makes no sense. MM is an established franchise that began in 8-bit. Had it been the other way around, you might have a point. What we have here is a franchise going back to its roots in the main series that started on the NES, bringing the difficulty and art direction with it.

It actually makes perfect sense if you think about it.

I'm saying that IF an unestablished franchise (instead of say Megaman for instance) tried to release a title now days, with visuals that of Commodore 64, do you honestly think it would stand up against current-gen titles, reguardless of how well it played?

Given that, Capc$om$$$4osoft, is trying to make a quick buck on the established retro Mega-man series.

"just as no one deny that a good game also needs good graphics"

Hi. I'll be playing the part of the person that will deny that a good game also needs good graphics. Just look at any good game from NES - N64 era (or even past that, depending on the game). Good games do NOT need good graphics.
